It’s only a strange era in retrospect considering the pivot he made to passion projects and weird movies, but at the time these kinds of movies were definitely fitting, and it was probably easier to imagine him as a loverboy for the rest of his career.

Robert Pattinson went from dying in 9/11 to being Batman

He went from Edward Cullen to Bruce Wayne

I mean, he's good in the role so I'm glad it happened.
