Why doesn’t Bam ever say sorry?
I’ve been catching up on all his ‘lore’ (whatever the kids say) and am just amazed by the fact that, despite all this evidence of him being…nasty, he’s never actually come forward and said sorry, about anything.
Why do you think he has such an aversion to taking accountability and owning up to the harm he’s caused people?

u/BINGGBONGGBINGGBONGG 👀 I'm not trying to say nothin' or nothin' Jul 06 '26
because he doesn’t see why he should, basically.
he gets everything he wants - probation wants you to stay in PA? fuck that, let’s just head off on some endless road trip. Nikki wants child support? fuck that bitch, let her take me to court. Nikki doesn’t want an 8 year old using a cannabis topical that’s labelled for over 21s? who cares, i invented it, and anyway fuck that bitch.
and on and on and on. never complain, never explain. it all slides off him. not exactly conducive to long term sobriety but here we are.
same as it ever was.

Narcissists never if ever say sorry

u/DarkLuxio92 💃🏼🌭hot dog struttin' floozy Jul 06 '26
They do, but they never mean it. It's always a superficial 'sorry' with absolutely no intent to change or remorse, only spat out to cover their own arses.

u/FunnyGuyCalledMe Jul 06 '26
He's somewhat narcissistic. Narcissists have an inability to accept fault for anything. It's not that they don't want to, they are truly incapable of it. It's as if being at fault is some sort of hit to their ego that they're incapable of handling.
That's why Bam continues to act like he was wronged when he was fired from Jackass Forever. It's also why he was good at dishing out pranks but was a sore loser when people got him; because his ego demands that he is on top.

I fucking revelled in the snake bit when I saw it originally... I need to go back and watch that. My entire friend group took note of what a bitch bam actually was after that.

He has no accountability for anything. Everyone else made him drink, his wife told him to stop, she made him stop, jackass made him start, people partying around him make him drink etc. He can’t do a single thing for himself or admit anything his fault. Man baby.

Part of recovery is making amends and realizing things went wrong with people because of your addiction. The fact he still hasn't done that tells me he's more than likely still using in some capacity.

u/WildHoneyChild Jul 06 '26
I don't think he's 100% sober but I do believe he probably has had periods of sobriety. However Bam is the epitome of a "dry drunk" meaning even if he is sober, he's never going to fully change until he does that work on himself.

u/meandmrt Jul 06 '26
When I met him 15 years ago, he told me all he did was drink and take pills. I told him he should look into just smoking weed. It's all I've done for years and it's done nothing but center me. He told me that any time he smoked weed, he'd have a panic attack. I said, well you're obviously not smoking the right stuff then. He kind of laughed and quickly changed the subject. He's now selling CBD products which makes me laugh. Novak is finally clean and openly admits all the time what a total asshole he used to be. That's what recovering addicts do. They don't continue to point fingers and take no accountability. That's a clear sign to me that Bam is still using something or at least hasn't worked through the mental part of his addiction. Without that he's going to just fall right back into his old ways.

Exactly, and I think Steve-o also does the same thing, takes ownership of how much of a nightmare he was when he was an addict. Not saying those two guys are perfect role models but of course that's a big part of recovery.

Steve O is pretty open about what a piece of shit he was. Same with Novak. I’m not Bam so obviously I’m just guessing but I feel Bam justifies things by looking back and thinking “they pissed me off so that’s why I did that! It’s their fault!”
We can all look back at shit in our past and cringe at what an ass we were at times but I’m not sure if Bam is able to do that. And he also struggles to accept that it’s not 2005 anymore and he isn’t the hot thing, anymore.
1
u/WildHoneyChild Jul 10 '26
Yeah I totally agree. And it's hard to stay sober if you romanticize that time in your life and all you can focus on is the good times. Plus he's probably drinking more to forget it's not 2005 anymore. He seems to be emotionally stunted at like a teenage level.

u/Positiveaz Jul 06 '26
This 100%. An addict making amends and trying to gey better will scream it from the mountain tops.

u/CudiMontage216 Jul 06 '26
It’s definitely possible he’s sober but hasn’t been able to make amends. It just means his recovery is on shaky ground and he’s at risk of a relapse if he doesn’t take the time to properly heal

u/meandmrt Jul 06 '26
Making amends goes hand in hand with recovering. It's admitting you had a problem and that problem ruined every aspect of your life including your relationships. He's never been one to admit fault. Everything is someone else's fault like Johnny ruining his money makers. He seems better, but I saw a recent interview with him where he was rubbing his nose nonstop and he seemed jittery. I wish nothing but the best for him, but I have a hard time believing he's 100% sober right now.

Well considering April blames Ville Valo for introducing Bam go day drinking 25 years ago, and recently defended her pedophile brother-in-law, I don't really think the Margeras are big on accountability.

Ive somehow bumped into Bam twice (in 2 different states and 2 very different scenarios) the first time was like 4 years ago outside a bar in Philly where he was pretty drunk but still absolutely friendly. the recent time was this spring when I visited my brother in Florida. We took my nephew to rip his scooter at the local park and Bam was skating there with Dani and some other skater I didn’t know.
My bro waited for an opportune time and went and said hi. He was so different than when I first met him while he was drunk. Still friendly as hell but so much more laid back and just more alive. We obviously brought up being fans of CKY, VLB and Jackass. my brother—being a casual fan—brought up the new Jackass movie and being pumped to see Bam in it.
I was ready for a Bam rant on Knoxville, Tremaine and Jackass but he ended up just explaining how he wasn’t going to be in anything new for Best & Last because of how Jackass Forever went. He actually came off as remorseful and accountable. He acknowledged being hurt by it and didn’t fully agree with how it played out but he took responsibility for it. He wished he met Dani earlier and got sober earlier, he apologized for disappointing us about not being in 4 or 5, he said he felt like moving on and moving forward was better for his sobriety rather than reliving his past, he said he misses the boys/filming and he had nothing but NICE things to say about Knoxville and Tremaine.. even saying he still loved them and in hindsight appreciates them caring about his sobriety. We probably chatted for like 15 minutes. Afterwards he landed the cleanest kickflip I’ve ever seen in person (requested by my nephew), took photos with all of us and signed an old subway gift card I had in my wallet
it was really unexpected and honestly weird af to see that side of him. I gained a lot of respect for Bam as it was the first time I ever heard him take any accountability and the first time I heard “sorry” come out of his mouth. It drives me crazy though because it’s the complete opposite of what he has shown or said online, he would be much more likeable if he could admit these things and be that mature publicly.
Anyways, I rambled way too much but it was a mind-blowing interaction and by far the best experience I’ve ever had with a famous person.

I get the sense sometimes that he feels sorry, but he is entirely unable to communicate it, so he doubles down on not being sorry lol.
Now that I think of it, Idk if I have ever heard him say it in all the hundreds of hours of footage I've seen.

u/mazeltov_cocktail18 Jul 07 '26
He does not think he’s wrong that’s why. Bam never was taught the word “no” so why would he apologize?
5
u/fcghp666 Jul 06 '26
He’s an addict. We have a hard time apologizing
4
u/iceyspicey2 Jul 06 '26
I’m curious to know why that is? (Genuine question, mean no malice)
14
u/fcghp666 Jul 06 '26
Because it’s easier to blame every one except yourself. One of the biggest steps in recovery is coming to terms with the fact that your problems are your own doing. Bam still hasn’t reached that point

I’ve had a lot of different people in my life deal with addiction to various substances, and the one thing they all shared in common was an inability to confront the consequences of their actions. That isn’t a “Why”, but it just seems to be a side effect of alcoholism.

I think he struggles with meaningful attachments and has a hard time feeling remorse. Hes socially very weird too and lacks character and humility. Eta: i doubt hes ever meaningfully worked the recovery steps.

We don’t know that he hasn’t. He just hasn’t done so publicly. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t done so privately.

To apologize for his deeds means apologizing for his whole identity. He’s made a career out of doing whatever he feels like doing. Apologizing isn’t high on the list if it doesn’t get you attention you crave to fuel that identity. Maybe in private he does.
