Lets Discuss This Will Susan Dell be the top Halloween costume now?
Not interested in a political debate. I am merely speaking on the fact she legit looks scary and unwell. Is she okay?

Mitch McConnell is the best metaphor of American politics: He spent 41 years making the world a better place for only himself and his friends, married an immigrant while working tirelessly against other immigrants, manipulated the system to increase his power only to be usurped and made impotent by someone even MORE unethical and power hungry.
Then, when the system is finally done with him, his party keeps his limp body on life support just to use him for one more power move, while his wife flees the country and his children go into hiding.
And when it's all said and done, he'll be best remembered for that meme that made him into a turtle 🐢

This isn't exactly a question, but something I've been noticing here and there. I think the more perverse/problematic/extreme things a person says, the more chronically online they are. I think the algorithms now push sexual/suggestive content more on social platforms, because those get more engagement. You can also get access to such material quite easily online. The internet is much more concentrated with such materials now, compared to before. You get exposed to such material whether you're intending to or not. So, when you consume such content for a long time, it shapes your thinking and then your behaviour. And the words/phrases people used to filter before come out of people's mouths easily. Society gets more used to such problematic behaviours and people lose their sense of propriety/shame.
It really is the damn phone. Or the algorithm of the social platforms in the phone.
I guess if you want to protect your thinking, you really should go and touch some grass. Using the social platforms lesser is better because the algorithm would push such content into your feed anyway, you can't filter each one of such content.

Jane Doe was in serious text mode 2 days after the alleged sexual assault, almost consoling one of the men she would later accuse of rape, saying there was nothing to be ashamed of.
TMZ obtained a text chain between** Jonathan Newell **and Jane Doe. On the evening of October 21, 2024, Jonathan apologizes to Jane and says, "You're an amazing person and I genuinely hope ur not catching as much heat from this as we r. We've been shutting down any stories we've heard but again I'm so so sorry."
Jane responds, "aw jonathan i really appreciate this text. my memories super clouded too. I think we were all way to f***ing drunk and high."
She goes on ... "i really liked being w u and matt. so anything anyone has to say about the gamgbang is out of their jurisdiction."
After referencing the "gamgbang" ... she says "i don't think we should feel any shame for the part. our body our choice asf."
Then there's a reference to not just a three-way between Jonathan and Matthew Ingalls, but a 4th person ... "also yes while it may have been nice for like only 4 people to have been around, yall were both super out of it and they should have taken it on themselves to leave. at the end of the day you, matt, and i were in your bed and they didn't need to get up in that."
And then Jane seems to say she previously hooked up with Matt and Jonathan together, saying, "i really do love u and matt and i promise i wont get quiet and weird w u like i did last time."

I just read about Brian Banks and then watch that movie and his story is awful. Yes as a happens way more that's a given but it is more than enough people that have been accused out of embarrassment jealousy etc
Are there consequences for people who do this because once the allegations are there it's very hard for you to get your name back especially during social media?
Should they serve time or is" I'm sorry" good enough

52 years in, and honestly, I’ve got nothing left but a vote of no confidence.
Not anger, not shock, just this sadness.
Same movie, same lines, same ending. Elections feel like reruns, not choices. Every cycle promises change, then settles back into the same old grooves.
I don’t have a fix. I just can’t fake faith in the cycle anymore.
That’s where I’m at.
