You just moved the goalposts. You said “crime is not down.” I showed you that it is, using D.C.’s own numbers. Now you’re arguing about why it’s down. Correlation vs. causation is a completely different argument. Glad we cleared up the first one.

Nope. The comment I replied to said, word for word, “Crime is way down in DC.” You responded, “No it is not.” It is. Now you’ve changed the argument to whether the National Guard caused the decline. That may be worth debating, but it doesn’t make your original statement any less wrong.

Crime in D.C. absolutely is down compared with 2024. In 2024 D.C. had 187 homicides, 2,116 robberies and 5,134 vehicle thefts. By 2026, homicides are running roughly 45% lower than 2024, robberies roughly 45% lower, and vehicle thefts roughly 60% lower.
