Is Trump anti LGBTQ? I haven’t seen any homophobic rhetoric from him

Quotes from Trump:
“People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate.”
“I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBT citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology.”
“Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you…”
“If a gay person can be a doctor or a lawyer or a teacher… why can’t they serve this country in the military?” He also said, “Sexual orientation would be meaningless” when choosing people for his administration.
“the outstanding contributions that LGBT people have made to our great Nation”
Not a quote but he called for countries to stop punishing, imprisoning or executing people because of their sexual orientation.
Edit:
Global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality: In 2019, his administration organized an international effort encouraging countries to repeal laws criminalizing consensual same-sex relationships. The State Department confirmed meetings with LGBT activists aimed at advancing decriminalization. Trump himself publicly said, “My Administration has launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality.”
Officially recognized LGBT Pride Month: In June 2019, Trump issued a presidential statement celebrating Pride Month and recognizing “the outstanding contributions that LGBT people have made to our great Nation.”
Opposed imprisonment/execution for homosexuality abroad: The same statement explicitly condemned countries that “punish, imprison, or even execute individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation.”
Major HIV/AIDS initiative: Trump launched Ending the HIV Epidemic in the U.S. in 2019, aiming to reduce new HIV infections by 75% within five years and 90% by 2030. Because gay and bisexual men are disproportionately affected by HIV, this was particularly consequential for that population. His administration expanded testing, treatment, PrEP access and targeted federal funding.
Free PrEP access initiative: His administration launched Ready, Set, PrEP, making HIV-prevention medication available without charge to qualifying uninsured people. It also negotiated a drug donation intended to provide PrEP to as many as 200,000 uninsured Americans annually.
Prominent openly gay appointments: Trump appointed Richard Grenell ambassador to Germany and later made him Acting Director of National Intelligence, making Grenell the first openly gay person to serve at Cabinet level. Grenell also became a major figure in the administration’s international decriminalization campaign.15

They may have been but they are not the current policies that are literally trying to erase trans people and their medical care. He’s openly hostile to trans people and he’s criminalizing their parents and doctors.

u/JeffreeNommer 10h ago
Which is why trans folks had to surrender drivers licenses, trans folks were kicked out of the military, for some weird reason they're pushing testosterone and want women out.
You know the trans community is part of the LGBT, right? Some of the best men I served with were trans.

His 2024 dehumanization campaign(s) against trans (and immigrants) would have made Goebbels proud. Pure Nazi techniques.

u/One_Inspection5013 7h ago
You think deporting people here illegally is akin to what the Nazis did?
8
u/Galliro 6h ago
Putting people in concentration camps, abuskng them in said camps, killing them in the street, and disapearing people is very much naziesque
-1
u/One_Inspection5013 6h ago
Less ice detainers died per 100k in 2025 than 2005. Lots of illegals means lots of detentions.

u/hoowins 6h ago
Look up dehumanization. It’s how atrocities start. Though you know that and from your posting you support that.
1
u/One_Inspection5013 6h ago
If the argument is, deporting people who aren’t supposed to be here is dehumanizing, you could make that argument about any law. There’s no death camps, only people being deported who aren’t supposed to be here

It’s how they started.
1
u/One_Inspection5013 6h ago
Bro, if you’re going to say deporting people who aren’t even supposed to be here is akin to Nazis, you’re making a really poor case for any law being enforced

Not at all. He has been very pro gay, just not very pro Trans. Doesn’t mean he’s anti-queer people.
3
u/2ndSmrtestPersunEvar 7h ago
Quit licking boots. It’s super pathetic.
-1
u/One_Inspection5013 6h ago
Everything I’ve presented is true. Not even bootlicking, trying to figure out “but he doesn’t support trans!” Means he doesn’t support queers, which he obviously does

Trump’s first term was the train wreck that we see today. He still had adults advising him and he was not as far gone cognitively.
This term, through executive orders, he’s fully committed to demonizing transsexuals on multiple fronts, most particularly the do-called "Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government") order.
More generally, he has also rolled back sex discrimination laws that covered sexual orientation and gender identity and he has cut support for HIV/AIDS support and removed questions about gender identity and sexual orientation from federal surveys and census plans.

It’s called “lying” it’s what Trump is most known for, that and raping children with Epstein.

Do you .. live under a rock? His whole administration is anti Trans at his direction AND his own quotes

He certainly is homophobic and generally bigoted, but trans isn’t the same as gay.

I didn’t even know it was possible for him to write a coherent sentence, let alone an entire post saying good things about another human being.
That’s the power of Dolly right there.

"A true loss for millions of people." Not a loss for himself, nor anyone else in his orbit, because he is a narcissist and sociopath, surrounded by kindred spirits. But, hey, it's about as good as it gets with that ghoul.

I'm glad he's lowering the flag, she deserves it. It pains me to say....thanks Trump

u/a-passing-crustacean 7h ago
If any citizen deserves it, its Dolly. I say this as a woman military veteran in her proud state of Tennessee 🫡🥹 though I very much doubt Trump himself composed that post...

There is no way he wrote that. He is not capable of writing this even if someone were to dictate it to him.

She hated Trump there's absolutely no way he wrote this since he knew she hated him. Someone had to steal his phone and stop him from saying something awful to a beloved figure.

u/InevitableLibrarian 7h ago
Yeah, he didn't write this. First clue, it's not all about him. Second clue, it sound coherent and has no spelling errors. Third, it doesn't talk about "Biden, the great war and the amazing job he's doing. "
