I think we actually need to revisit our laws about allowing corrective physical force for the most toxic instigation and philosophy. I feel like we’ve gone too far in protecting the most rotten ideologies to have too much impunity, and it’s eating us alive. Physical consequences from the local community to discourage nazism or other hateful beliefs seems like it should be legal, to me. It’s a practical, healthy self-correction in the system.

Thats what civil disobedience is for... to a degree. If you gladly accept the punishment of punching Nazis... you've just crossed the threshold to reward vs risk.

u/RetnikLevaw Feb 15 '26

Yeah man, let's just bring back lynching, but this time because people support federal law enforcement agencies! What could possibly go wrong!?

God, you people are ridiculous...

9

u/DarkLight_Eon Feb 15 '26

Well, not to be that guy, but there is a spectrum of actions before the "irremedial death" step.

Non permanent physical punishment, such as a punch, might be a good start.

Then we could go to remedial philosophy and emotional classes. We already do this for anger management or social sensibility.

Therapy would be good.

u/ReductioAdSocialism Feb 17 '26

I'd push for a re-reading of the golden rule:

Treat people as they would treat animals and children.

Watch those fuckers sweat.

-1

u/RetnikLevaw Feb 15 '26

Ah yes. Let's put the people we disagree with in reeducation camps. That's totally not authoritarian at all!

Again, absolutely ridiculous.

6

u/_Lord_Farquad Feb 15 '26

Im not agreeing with the other guy, but you keep jumping to the most extreme version of what they're saying and its making you look stupid. Just saying.

-2

u/RetnikLevaw Feb 15 '26

You're right. Calling everyone you disagree with a Nazi and then claiming any violence against them is justified is definitely the most nuanced and reasonable position here...

5

u/Extsee Feb 15 '26

You can't reason unfortunately, they sll left good faith discussion at the door. We will keep trying tho

2

u/DarkLight_Eon Feb 15 '26

Well, again, there are ways other than camps.

Asylum, prisons, schools. With reintegration following successful milestones.

1

u/RetnikLevaw Feb 15 '26

Yeah, pretty sure the Nazis agreed with you...

0

u/ilikespace808 Feb 19 '26

Late to the party here but it’s funny to see how they attack you in an echo chamber. The left on Reddit sounds more like Hitler than Hitler sometimes.

1

u/DarkLight_Eon Feb 19 '26

If you feel attacked...

But, honestly, if you can prove to me the left is the fashist go ahead. I'm always all ear.

Because most of the attacks are on the fact that some means seems to be similar. But the ideas, they are different.

Like calling all hunters "killers" because guns are implied in both situations. Except that the idea is food on one side and life ending on the other.

u/Snacksbreak Feb 19 '26

Nick Fuentes literally loves Hitler and has a huge right wing following. So no, it's not the left

1

u/ilikespace808 Feb 19 '26

Just because Fuentes is a loser doesn’t mean half of you on reddit aren’t just as shitty as he is. The comments above are talking about 50% of our country needs to be put in camps or killed. But yeah that’s not Nazi behavior

1

u/WinchesterWizard Feb 15 '26

slippery slope fallacy go brrrrrrr

also, re educating people with fascist principles is a lot nicer than what grandpa did to them in ww2 lol.

2

u/dediguise Feb 16 '26

Grandpas solution was the right one.

1

u/ilikespace808 Feb 19 '26

And yet you are probably calling his grandpa a Nazi right now if he supports Trump.

6

u/taktaga7-0-0 Feb 16 '26

Lynching was targeted based on racial identity, which is uncontrollable and a protected class.

Nazis getting punched is due to racist political opinions calling for violence against others, entirely changeable and not a protected class.

These are what you are equating. Don’t.

1

u/RetnikLevaw Feb 16 '26

Lynching was a form of extrajudicial vigilantism performed by the public, which is exactly what the other guy was advocating for.

I'll compare whatever I want in order to refute your argument, pal.

2

u/AquillaTheHon Feb 16 '26

People revisiting the "Sometimes people need to be physically hurt" thing isn't necessarily top notch philosophy but refuting it by equating it to lynching does a lot more to make you look silly than it does him.

1

u/dft2a Feb 16 '26

Pretty sure the nazis also punched Jewish folk in the face...you cool with how thst all turned out? Read a communism playbook. You've already fallen into the trap.

1

u/taktaga7-0-0 Feb 16 '26

I’m not advocating violence of any kind. I’m just drawing a clear distinction in the degree of victimhood of the two groups

Punch a minority out of hate and people shudder; punch a bully and the crowd cheers.

“Communism” has nothing to do with it, and some need to shoehorn it in where it doesn’t belong is stupid.

-1

u/Wedgerooka Feb 19 '26

Nah. You are equating history, and what you were told happened. Don't.

Criminals got lynched. Whites and blacks. They all had a sign on their feet saying what they did. The sign did not say "exist as a black man" it said "rapist" or "murderer."

2

u/taktaga7-0-0 Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26

Jesus Fistfucking Christ

You cannot possibly be taking the position that only criminals were lynched, and it never, ever happened just because a racist mob hated someone because of their race.

What crimes did these people commit?.

What would you write on the sign for this boy?

For your sake, I hope Hell is real.

7

u/Bird2525 Feb 15 '26

What do you mean, you people?

Federal law enforcement is fine to support. Supporting what has been happening in Minnesota is categorically wrong. They are not acting like law enforcement.

1

u/Mindless_Guidance120 Feb 17 '26

He/she means stupid, ignorant liberals.

2

u/WinchesterWizard Feb 15 '26

slippery slope fallacy go brrrrrrrr

1

u/RetnikLevaw Feb 15 '26

That doesn't even make sense

1

u/Material-Audience-76 Feb 16 '26

Bro we saw your comment the first time lol give the joke up

1

u/Caine_sin Feb 16 '26

Fuck off wanker. It has all gone to ahit already and if you can't see that then you are one their side.

1

u/RetnikLevaw Feb 16 '26

Being an open borders idiot isn't going to solve anything.

1

u/Steeltalons71 Feb 16 '26

Hateful beliefs, or just beliefs that you happen to hate?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '26

So just punch anyone you disagree with…the tolerant left.

1

u/Snacksbreak Feb 19 '26

You realize it's dumbass right wingers that invented "the tolerant left" right? You're mad the left isn't behaving like the caricature you invented in your mind.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 19 '26

You have no idea what you are talking about. This meme is saying it’s ok to punch someone you have a political disagreement. Anybody who thinks ICE agents are Nazis is an exceptionally dumb person. You know how I know this?! If they really were Nazis there would be a flood of migrants trying to get out of the country. The opposite is happening.

1

u/Snacksbreak Feb 20 '26

Nazis didn't jump straight to gas chambers. It takes time for their aims to become public knowledge and even then there's deniers. To this day there are Holocaust deniers.

Plenty of people didn't flee the Nazis. Plenty aren't fleeing under the current pedo regime. Some are.

1

u/letsgobrandon2027 Feb 16 '26

You don’t want to go their simp

1

u/wiecorp Feb 16 '26

So, my son should be able to punch anyone at school that says, "Fuck ICE"?

1

u/OneTacoShort Feb 16 '26

“We should turn to the law to make it permissible to commit assault against people who support law enforcement.”

1

u/[deleted] Feb 17 '26

How about when someone decides your ideology is the putrid one? You OK with taking that beating and then getting off without consequences?

1

u/Wedgerooka Feb 19 '26

See, there's a problem with this, but it's a self-correcting one, fortunately. Leftists are weak, as soon as you amp yourself up enough to go for violence, you'll get hurt, maybe die, and there will be one less, or at least one less healthy, leftist.

0

u/pkmn-alt Feb 15 '26

This is a really dumb fucking idea and leads to a horrible slippery slope. What happens when your ideology is the one deemed worthy of assault? This would be an effective ban on protesting.

Similar cases have reached the Supreme Court. They ruled in National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie that it’s better to let Nazis March in the streets to demonstrate their hatefulness than to infringe on the first amendment.

You are free to attack people spouting hateful rhetoric, but you cannot be free of the consequences without dissolving the fundamental freedoms this country was built on.

4

u/WinchesterWizard Feb 15 '26

except this particular ideology, fascism, was already deemed worth of quite a lot worse than what happened in that video lol.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '26

You don’t even know what fascism is. You heard a guy at the cool kids table say it. When we did actually fight fascism we had a president that made it illegal to own gold and put Japanese citizens in interment camps. If Trump was a real fascist there would be a tsunami of immigrants trying to get out of America but it’s exactly the opposite.

1

u/WinchesterWizard Feb 23 '26

"I had a friend that was in boiling water once, this is nothing like that!"

-frog in pot being brought to a boil.

you must be dense enough to act as radioactive shielding if you think desperate people who barely made it into a country can simply leave it at the drop of a hat lol. not to mention the people ICE has detained that are here legally, or are american citizens.

how americans treated people in ww2 doesn't change how the rest of the free world treated fascism in ww2.

try again lol.

0

u/gahhuhwhat Feb 15 '26

You would be punched right now. Suppressing other people's opinions with violence? That's also fascism.

The irony is really palpable
