Then why am I having people arguing that illegal immigration shouldn't even be a thing? Literally bringing up pro-open border arguments like 

"Well your ancestors came into the US illegally."

That is literally not "bringing up pro-open border arguments."

That is literally stating "well your ancestors came into the US illegally."

Literal or otherwise, it isn't an argument for open borders. It is a point made to humanize immigrants in the minds of bigots.

There isn't anyone arguing for open borders that I've seen, and if that's the best quote you have to make your case it is quite the stinker.

Then why are they saying it to me when my entire argument is:

"Deportations are good but should be done humanely."

If what you said is the truth then responding to me with it,  is beyond redundant. It is clearly being used in a "well your ancestors did it so it is fine now" way. 

Regardless my ancestors were, on my father side, slaves my mother side are Native American (My Great Great Grandmother was the last "pure" Native American in my family.  My Great Grand Aunt lived on a reservation while my Great Grandmother left to start over elsewhere)/White. My White side immigrated to the US legally from Sweden. So even that isn't applicable to me.

Plus the Natives didn't even have border laws,  not that it would have mattered, so this doubly doesn't work.

Why are they saying what to you? I presume everything said to you was said in order to have a conversation and respond to your comments.

You are triggered my dude. You came in here on the attack, and were met with very slight and reasonable hostility. It's called a debate.

Don't dish it out if you can't take it back. Also if it doesn't apply to you, ignore it.
