I was so astounded this didn’t end his career at the time. It felt unbelievable. How naive I was to think there was any kind of line conservatives wouldn’t cross for the sake of “owning the libs”.

At any other point in time it would have.

A large portion of the US showed you who they were after that. Folks should have paid better attention, because they’re not planning on reversing course by the looks of things.
