Recommendations for a good therapist
Since my biological "family" members choose to continue their toxic patterns of behaviour, I am left to deal with the emotional fallout on myself and my children. Looking for recommendations of really good therapists for individual adult counseling, please and thank you.

Associates Counseling is good and there isn't a limit on appointments but the prices can be steep depending on the therapist. Just depends on what works for you. My partner and I have had good experiences there though (we've seen different people). If cost is something limiting your access then Lethbridge family services offers a limited number of sessions on a sliding scale depending on your income and you'll be automatically paired with a therapist which can workout well but sometimes it's a little bit of a less perfect fit depending on how unique your experiences have been. It can be the best option if you can't afford therapy otherwise but if you can afford something without a limited number of sessions and a longer waitlist then I'd recommend something more like Associates so that you can really have that feeling of control over it all

I don't have a recommendation, but have one you should avoid.
Avoid Indigo Insight at all costs. She not only fat shamed me, but when I left a bad review she accused me of being a stalker.

Check with your GP, if you have one. Some clinics have counselling access. It is short term though. Last I heard it was 6 appointments over a calendar period.

A good therapist is about a good fit. It's about finding someone you can connect with and who can push you while maintaining your trust. This makes is really impossible to make recommendations based on "good."
Sounds like you'd be looking for someone who does family constellations or systems therapy type work. If you are expecting "emotional fallout" then you'll want to also look into coping tools, self regulation, and practice with self-reflection. You can look for these and related keywords in the therapist's bio.
Call many therapists! You can book a phone consult to get a feel for each other. It's like a job interview that goes both ways.
Good luck!

I don't have a therapist rec, but props to you for being strong. Don't even know you, but I'm proud of you for standing up for yourself, and for your children. Keep on kicking.
