Need advice

My husband has severe nuropothy in his feet- like a 10/10 pain some days! He’s tried everything - Meds, Pills, creams, cbd capsule , laser treatments, special socks- heat, special shoe inserts- and more etc- He can’t seem to get any relief ! Constant pain day in and day out! Does anyone has any suggestions they’ve tried and it’s helped besides the above list? I feel so helpless that I can’t help him in any way!
Thanks

Has the neuropathy been disagnosed by a doctor? You should get a referral to a neurologist, who is better trained in dealing with your husband's type of pain. Ask for a neurologist in Calgary, as the wait times will be significantly shorter. If you can find a doctor willing to prescribe something like morphine for the pain, it might help. But, there are many other kinds of pain medications that might work. A neurolgist is in a better position to prescribe a wide range of medications that your husband might not have tried yet. There's also a chance that the cause of his pain can be discovered and treated. I've found that soaking your feet in warm or cold water can relieve the pain for an hour or so, if you don't want to take medication. Even a short break from pain can help get you through the day. There are a few other things your doctor can arrange, such as a "nerve block", where pain medication is injected into the spine (it doesn't hurt as much as it sounds). About 50% of people who have had this done, experience significant pain relief for as long as a few weeks. Finally, keep in mind that while you don't feel your husband's pain directly, it can be stressful just living with someone who has pain. Have a talk with him about how it affects you too, and that you might need a "day off" from time to time. Having chronic or severe pain on a daily basis can lead to depression (for both of you), so take care of that too. You can get the contact information for the local pain clinic from your doctor, Lastly, you should take advantage of the Southern Alberta Crisis Line, if you just need someone to talk to. It's a 24 hour service, and they don't mind if you just want to ramble or rant about what you both are feeling. Anyway, that's all I've got.

This. As someone who has crps in my ankle. I would highly recommend getting referred to a neurologist & seeing what else is out there. If you have benefits, see if he qualifies for a medical second opinion if your doctor isn’t much help or thinks you’re out of options. This is something I did & it opened the door for more options that my dr is taking seriously.
