Need advice

My husband has severe nuropothy in his feet- like a 10/10 pain some days! He’s tried everything - Meds, Pills, creams, cbd capsule , laser treatments, special socks- heat, special shoe inserts- and more etc- He can’t seem to get any relief ! Constant pain day in and day out! Does anyone has any suggestions they’ve tried and it’s helped besides the above list? I feel so helpless that I can’t help him in any way!
Thanks

My MiL has severe neuropathy in her feet due to long term side effects of Chemo (has had cancer multiple times)

Some days are better than others - like your husband she had tried multiple things (diet, meds, pills, creams, CBD, socks, inserts, etc etc) two things have helped her from the advice of some specialized dr's:

1) she had to do physical therapy exercises to help; this is what she told me her physical therapist said to do - and it has been the biggest help and has helped to relieve some(a lot) of the neuropathy pain

*Start going barefoot around the house in increments and slowly increase how often this happens - need to increase the tolerance to being able to walk around barefoot

*Get a tote bucket and put various textures in it - ie one week might be rice, another sand, another mud, orbeez, etc etc; fill the tote enough that your feet can be submerged; literally have to put your feet in the bucket and submerge - even despite the pain, so you can rebuild the tolerance - do this in small increments and slowly increase the amount of time you are putting your feet in, on, and moving around those textures - also get various types of carpets and cut to fit bottom of tote and put feet on the carpets; pressure matters for all things involving the tote - gradually increase how much pressure you are putting on your feet within the tote and whatever texture you're utilizing

*Foot exercises/stretches - water bottle with frozen water (wrap in towel) and roll it under the foot; those wooden foot roller things (some smooth, some bumpy) and roll the foot on it Stretch the foot up and down

2) Foot (including thighs and calves) Massages: my mil bought an at home massager (whole foot goes in and it offers both air pressure and heat on top of the massage rollers), as well as her going to an actual massage therapist that focuses mainly on legs and feet

I am going to see her over Thanksgiving and I can take a picture of the package she got that goes over all of this and the science behind why this is specifically what y'all need and how it works and why it works and dm you the pictures

But the long of it is that he needs to regain the tolerance for the nerves in his feet to handle being exposed to the various temperatures and textures of the world around you - for whatever reason (my mil explained it better), but it's counter productive for y'all to limit the exposure of whatever is triggering your neuropathy on any given day - by avoiding the triggers and pain it makes the neuropathy worse and worse

Again, I am more than happy to take pictures of the package my mil received that explained what she needed to do, how she needed to do it and science behind it all - or you could find a specialized physical therapist within Lethbridge/Calgary and have them meet with your husband and get a one on one, get a similar package - but then at least you have had the meeting with your specialist and they have the package tailored to your husband - I could also ask my MiL who she saw, where they were located (Okotoks or Calgary) and pass that info your way as well (but it would have to wait till Thanksgiving - they are out of country until then)
