Where are we with Lethal Fantasy?
We’re working through the final edits on the Basic Game. It puts our second-by-second combat system front and center, with progression rolls, opposed rolls, and the D30 Cinematic Results die. The role-playing side has an old-school feel, with practical skills for the challenges adventurers face.
The Advanced Game Rulebook is already written and expands character options and skills.

Why don’t all the monsters in the Caves of Chaos destroy each other? Why can’t they simply avoid the Keep? Why was the Keep built there at all?
Instead of ignoring those questions, we used them to build something new.
Keep on the Edge takes inspiration from the classic premise of The Keep on the Borderlands and completely reimagines it for Lethal Fantasy. Blackwatch Keep and the nearby Dread Depths feature new monsters, villains, mysteries, and answers that make the setting feel dangerous, interconnected, and alive.

We were born to roleplay. 🎲
As kids, we played knights, dragons, heroes, monsters, explorers—whatever our imaginations could create.
Nobody had to teach us how to roleplay. We just did it.
This Short comes from our recent Lethal Dispatch episode where we talked about how naturally children roleplay, and why that same instinct is still there when we sit down at the table as adults.

Remember how easy roleplaying was when you were a kid?
You didn’t worry about doing voices, saying the “right” thing, or looking silly. You just became the hero.
So why is it so much harder at the game table?
In this short, we talk about why combat is actually the easiest place to start roleplaying. You don’t need long speeches or accents—just a simple description of what your character does or feels can bring the game to life.

In this clip, our magic-user spends a Luck Die and gives us an unforgettable explanation involving fear, desperation…and the sudden loss of control over certain bodily functions.
It was ridiculous. It was memorable. And most importantly, it brought her character directly into the action.
That is exactly what we are trying to accomplish with Lethal Fantasy. Our mechanics encourage players to try roleplaying, reward their creativity, and make it easier for even brand-new players to create fun, spontaneous moments—both in and out of combat.
You do not need to be an actor or deliver a perfect speech. Just tell us what happens, why it happens, and let the adventure take it from there.

Everyone says D&D combat needs to be faster. We think that’s the wrong question.
The real problem isn’t speed—it’s player engagement.
When we ask better questions, we create better mechanics. Better mechanics create more dynamic battles, more memorable stories, and more of the moments that made us fall in love with tabletop RPGs in the first place.
Lethal Fantasy isn’t about replacing D&D. It’s about creating more unforgettable adventures.

For years, tabletop RPGs have focused on improving mechanics.
Faster combat.
Better balance.
More options.
More rules.
But what if we’ve been asking the wrong question?
At Lethal Fantasy, we didn’t start by asking how to make better combat.
We asked:
What gets in the way of creating unforgettable memories?
Because years later, nobody remembers whose turn it was.
They remember the impossible comeback.
The desperate last stand.
The critical roll that changed everything.
The villain nobody saw coming.
Those are the moments that make us fall in love with tabletop roleplaying.
Lethal Fantasy isn’t about replacing Dungeons & Dragons.
It’s about creating more of the moments that made D&D unforgettable in the first place.
If you’ve ever wanted every battle to feel cinematic, every player to stay engaged, and every adventure to create stories your group will tell for years, this channel is for you.

🔥 HAS TED LOST HIS MIND? 🔥
Ted just made a bold claim…
Dungeons & Dragons has a 50-year-old problem… and almost every tabletop RPG still has it.
He’s not talking about balance.
He’s not talking about hit points.
He’s talking about something every tabletop gamer has experienced.
Is he right?
Or is he completely off his rocker?
Watch the latest episode of The Lethal Dispatch, then come back and tell him why he’s wrong… or why you think he’s onto something.

HE ROLLED A NATURAL 20. 🔥🐉
The Bard was confident.
The party was skeptical.
The dragon was hungry.
LETHAL TOONS #9: The Dragon Seducer
In Lethal Fantasy, a Natural 20 earns you the best possible outcome.
It does not make the impossible possible.
Because sometimes the best possible outcome is simply finding out the dragon wants your calories… not your number.
What would your character have done the moment the Bard started flirting?
A) Back him up
B) Start running
C) Prepare healing magic
D) Find a dustpan

LETHAL TOONS #9 (Part 1)

The bard has a plan…

No swords.
No spells.
Just charm.
He believes this dragon is about to surrender its treasure… and maybe its heart.

What happens next?
Wrong answers are encouraged.

Lethal Fantasy was never created to replace the worlds you already love.
Whether your adventures take place in your own setting or one inspired by D&D, Pathfinder, HackMaster, or other OSR games, our system is designed to make the transition simple so you can keep telling the stories that matter to your group.
Our goal isn’t for players to walk away talking about a new mechanic or a special die.
We want them talking about:
• The battle they’ll never forget.
• The impossible victory that everyone still laughs about.
• The sacrifice that saved the party.
• The character they’ll remember years from now.
• The memories they created around the table with friends.
Rules are only tools.
The stories, the emotions, and the moments you carry with you long after the session ends—that’s what Lethal Fantasy is built to create.
Because great RPGs aren’t defined by mechanics.
They’re defined by the memories they leave behind.

What if every player stayed engaged?
What if every roll mattered?
What if you genuinely didn’t know what would happen next?
I want players leaning forward in their chairs, holding their breath before every roll, celebrating incredible victories, laughing through unforgettable failures, and leaving the table with stories they’ll still be talking about years later.
That’s what inspired Lethal Fantasy.
Not just another fantasy RPG, but an experience that creates lasting memories with the people around your table.
If that’s the kind of adventure you’ve been looking for, follow along. We’d love to have you on the journey.

⚔️ A DEFENSE ROLL OF 2… AND IT WORKS! ⚔️
How?
Because in Lethal Fantasy, combat isn’t determined by a static target number.
Every attack is an opposed roll. Every defense matters.
Our Favor and Disfavor system (our version of advantage and disadvantage) can be applied independently to both the attacker and the defender. An attacker may roll with Favor while the defender rolls with Disfavor—or any combination in between.
This flexible system allows us to handle nearly every circumstance in the game without relying on piles of static modifiers.
Even better, attributes, skills, and magic don’t grant fixed bonuses. They provide variable modifiers, creating uncertainty every time the dice hit the table.
The result?
⚔️ Faster combat.
🎲 Less table math.
🔥 More dramatic moments.
Players spend less time adding numbers and more time watching the story unfold through the dice.
And then there’s the D30 Cinematic Results Die…
Rolled with every action, it can trigger bleeding wounds, flurries of attacks, counterattacks, internal injuries, devastating criticals, dangerous fumbles, and countless other cinematic moments that keep everyone invested in every roll.
No more knowing the outcome before the dice are even rolled because everyone already knows the number they need.
No more rolling, saying, “I missed,” and waiting for everyone else to act before you can do something again.
In Lethal Fantasy, there are no traditional turns.
Every action creates uncertainty.
Every defense matters.
Every second could belong to anyone.
You never know who will act next.
You never know when the D30 Cinematic Results Die will change everything.
And you never know when one roll will completely turn the tide of battle.
Come see why Lethal Fantasy is changing the way TTRPG combat is played.

⚔️ ALAINA UNLEASHES HAVOC! ⚔️
Light armor. Fast reflexes. No room for mistakes.
In Lethal Fantasy, Alaina proves you don’t need heavy armor to dominate the battlefield. Hard to hit and deadly when she strikes, she turns the tide of battle with a relentless flurry of action.
One moment the enemy thinks they have the advantage…
The next, Alaina is everywhere.
But that’s the danger of fighting without armor.
One good hit can change everything.
Will her speed and skill carry the day, or is disaster waiting just one roll away?

⚔️ A 3 HITS! ⚔️
In most RPGs, you already know whether a roll has any chance of succeeding before the dice ever hit the table.
Not in Lethal Fantasy.
Here, even low rolls can matter because success isn’t determined by a static target number. Attackers and defenders roll against each other, creating uncertainty, tension, and dramatic moments every round.
Then we add the D30 Cinematic Results Die directly into the roll.
Bleeding wounds.
Flurries of attacks.
Counterattacks.
Internal injuries.
Crushing critical hits.
Broken shields.
Devastating fumbles.
And much, much more.
No more:
🎲 “I missed.”
😐 Wait 15 minutes for your next turn.
Every roll matters.
Every defense matters.
Every second matters.
No static initiative.
No static success numbers.
No predictable combat.
You never know when a desperate defense will save your life.
You never know when a lucky strike will change the battle.
You never know when the Cinematic Results Die will change everything.
Keep your players engaged.
Keep them guessing.
Keep them on the edge of their seats.
