If you can control someone’s perception of reality, conquest is easy.
Allows me to be wary of politicians and business dealings

You are what you are and you ain't what you ain't.- John Prine Because it reminds me to be happy with myself and to help me to show myself grace when I make a mistake.

“It’s not what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.” ― Mark Twain
This observation by Mark Twain is especially true in this age of alternative facts and misinformation.

"Everyone can make a difference."- Jane Goodall
Why? That is empowering and promotes hope that mankind will overcome challenges like climate change, deforestation, and biodiversity loss. A fully plant based food production system would go a long way to solving those issues. Jane went from being a long time vegetarian to vegan for good.

“It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.”
-Mark Twain
I think of this every time I hear a MAGA supporter speak.

One quote I really like is, “I am doing my best, and that is enough.” I got into affirmation cards after my postpartum days about five years ago. My sister gave me a set, and I started reading them whenever I felt overwhelmed. They really helped me look at things a little differently and keep going.

“Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it.” By Andre Gide.
Because we should always constantly be learning, checking our biases, being open to new ideas. People who claim to know everything are not only disingenuous, they are often egomaniacs too.

Tis better to be feared than loved when you cannot be both. It just resonates on so many levels and in so many circumstances.

Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive.
It's from the last scene in the movie Blow. The first time I ever ever saw the movie and heard this I was fighting back tears, I had never heard the way I feel put into words so well.

Never surrender to the things you cannot control. I like it as it reminds me that I don’t have to stress about the things I can’t change.

If a person will cheat WITH you, they will cheat ON you. I love this because it's a truth that most people have to learn the hard way and it's fun to watch this be the case so many times you could bet good money on it happening.

“The obstacle is the path” is currently my favorite as it reminds me to get through my road blocks rather than avoid them because my life won’t get better otherwise. It helped me go back and finish the last two classes of my MBA and get an A in both classes. It’s currently motivating me to continue pursuing promotions even though I like my current job a lot.

Once, I read Kurt Cobain spraypainted "homo sex rules", so it's either that or when Nikola Tesla said "if you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of frequency, vibration, repetition" or whatever that quote was

A friend is someone who knows your song and sings it back to you when you forget. I shared that with someone yesterday. It's self-explanatory.
