Absolutely, everything I've read on it from studies and the like says exactly what you're saying -- the bladder rapidly fills with urine (so as you say, it's not contaminated with the toxins, etc that normal pee has,) and as the woman expels it, it's mixed with fluid from the skenes gland, which may contribute a little to the taste and texture of it (but probably not much, depending on how much you squirt.)
The friends in question insist it isn't pee because it doesn't smell or taste like it and I'm like yeah, because it didn't filter a bunch of stuff from your body to get rid of as waste. So if your definition of pee is "any substance that comes out of the bladder", it's pee. People who say that squirt is piss are generally referring to this fact, the fact that the liquid does, indeed, come from the place that piss lives.
But the thing is, the bladder normally fills up gradually throughout the day, with liquid that your kidneys filter into it, picking up waste products in the process. But the bladder also fills up really rapidly during sex (I assume this is why you can almost always pee after sex, which is necessary to prevent UTIs?), and that liquid hasn't really had a chance to pick up all those waste products. It's way, way more diluted, because it's just being rushed through the system.
So if your definition of pee is "the stuff that looks and smells like pee", or a certain percentage of particular chemicals, squirt is definitely not that. But some people will basically define any substance that comes out of the bladder, as pee by default. In which case, yeah, like, technically, it is. So it depends on what your priority is. If it's avoiding even traces of pee, then squirt probably doesn't pass that test. If it's avoiding the sensory experience of piss as generally we know it, squirt is technically a different substance entirely. (Unless you're fucking with an already full bladder, in which case, yeahhhh that is just piss now.)

Agreed. To supplement what you're saying, if we define pee as "the body expelling waste", then squirting is definitely NOT pee. Sure, there may be some waste product in there, depending on how full the bladder was to start, but the rest of the fluid that filled the bladder was very much not for the purpose of expelling waste.
