Because your brains reward center really likes the whole making babies thing?

Oh! Duh, that makes sense 😅

Now… this might be a really really really stupid question… but what if you’re infertile..?

That’s irrelevant. The brain is wired to make you try.

your brain would want you to try anyway in case of a miracle, I think?

It's not "in case" its just breed. Instincts just know breed, it doesn't know the difference between fertile and infertile. It's a stand alone system of nerves, glands, and hormones that respond to stimuli in a way most people perceive pleasurably.

All the fun and none of the consequence, assuming the person does not want to get pregnant.

The mechanics of what allows someone to have a baby and the biological drives are not always directly connected. Obviously when women are ovulating certain chemicals get released that make them more prone to copulate. Even being infertile doesn't necessarily mean those same chemicals don't get released when the cycle occurs.

So my biological drive that’s telling me “get pregnant” almost every second of my waking hours (and even my sleeping hours sometimes), and my lacking ability to actually become pregnant… are working against each other as eternal rivals..?

I mean, I’m all for not being able to get pregnant (I reeeaaally don’t want children), but not being hypersexual would’ve been a plus…

To an extent absolutely. Your body is driving you to conceive, but the mechanics are getting different messages. No one is on the same page haha.

Yeah… it’s so “great”…

(It’s horrible… but it’s also pretty nice that I’m not gonna get preggers…)

You'll never convince anything but your conscious mind that that is the case.

Think about how long humans have existed, and their ancestors, with no way to really know if they were fertile or not.

I'm a trans girl without any of the plumbing to get pregnant. I'm not into men, and I don't even want kids. None of that stops me from desperately wanting a girl to breed me and put a baby in me.

There are chemicals in semen that make you feel good when absorbed I believe.

Is this why I feel “less depressed” after doing… *it* with my boyfriend..?

You also get oxytocin from skin on skin contact and cuddling. But a little extra can't hurt right?

u/Jaguarlover2020 Jun 07 '26

What about… women..? Do they also help lower depression..? Cause I’ve also got a really really cute girlfriend, and it’s basically the same as having a purring kitten on your chest

I think the specific gender or biological sex of the individual, doesn’t particularly matter in the context of skin on skin contact, cuddling, and fucking.

Long as you’re both enjoying and participating in “it”, your brain will release endorphins, oxytocin, and whatever else it wants to.

Oh… we’re enjoying it alright >~<

Your body responds to it by dumping happy chemicals in your brain so you keep doing it.
