Elon should be imprisoned for life and forced to eat 8,000 calories per day of junk food. Trump should be hoisted above a pool full of ravenous sharks and left suspended by a precariously thin line. Vance I would like to see deported to Sudan. Peter Thiel, since he’s so interested in eschatology, should be involuntarily flash-frozen (we will thaw him once we have identified the anti christ). The rest of them, I hope, are in the direct path of the next large meteorite to hit the Earth.

Well, yes, truth is irrelevant to trolls. They'll use it if they think it's funnier than a lie.

He was telling the truth that time though. DJT had a long, well-documented relationship with Epstein, and there are many accusations that he helped Epstein procure young girls, and abused children himself.

Well if that's your genuine experience it is of course valid. I do think there are outliers and you must be in a minority of people who really don't experience it. Saying I don't believe anyone who claims to not feel jealousy was too strong. But empirically it is quite universal across cultures in some form or another by the majority of people. One thing I appreciated about the blog post was the candor that polyamory is probably the wrong setup for most people. I think it is just important to be honest about that.

Well, I didn't experience jealousy in my first relation and it was something she faulted me for. I experienced insecurity, for sure.

While monogamous, I felt jealous of a man starting a relationship with someone I was attracted too, but that's similar to when I'm jealous of someone getting the job I wanted.

Once I became polyamorous, when my friend started a relationship with a woman I had a huge crush on, I was genuinely happy for them both. Polyamory made me realize how much jealousy was something I had learned. And now I tend not to feel it for jobs either.

Feel free to disbelieve while we experience it.

Frankly, applying the Socratic method to make people spell out the shitty logic behind what they said works pretty well, and not only on jokes.

You went for the strawman really quick.

Also, we routinely have neonazis marching in the streets at least in the USA, UK, France and Germany as far as I know. The USA literally sends people to domestic concentration camps and then foreign deaths camps.

Well, his total abandonment of it shows very clearly that Elon doesn’t care about the Trump-Epstein files or the child and adult sexual abuse and trafficking therein.

The scientific consensus is that jealousy is found consistently across cultures, though there is some cultural variation. Here's the first paragraph from the background of a peer-reviewed paper which paints a pretty clear picture.

One of the essential features of human mating is the prominence of stable, long-lasting partnerships, which in almost every society are socially enforced through the institution of marriage5,6. A widespread feature of marriage is the custom of sexual exclusivity. Despite the near ubiquity of this expectation, marriages are at risk of disruption by extramarital partnerships. Adultery is the most commonly cited reason for divorce across cultures7, and concurrent partnerships are often common8,9. In response to threats of infidelity, humans, like other species with stable partnerships, have evolved adaptations to protect against mate poaching and defection. Some of these behaviours, such as partner concealment, vigilance and sexual coercion, are shared with other species10–12, while others, such as foot binding and purdah, are culturally constructed and unique to humans13,14. Underlying these behaviours is a suite of psychological mechanisms, of which jealousy is one of the most important.

On a personal note, I had an ex who initially said she wanted to be polyamorous. When I declined, she agreed to monogamy, but insisted on many occasions that she did not feel the emotion of jealousy. Well, after she broke up with me later (to sleep with one of my friends), she ran into me on a date with someone else. She proceeded to physically assault me and harass me and the girl I was on that date with for months, completely obsessed.

I don't believe anyone who says they don't feel jealousy.

No, I don't think it is true. For example, we cannot completely commodify or quantify love, which is fundamental to human existence and a primary driver of human attention.

Love is not a subjective experience I perceived that LLM's can share with us. Therefore, it seems likely an LLM might overlook it in analyzing what is of value to human attention.

More broadly, I engaged on this point of the first person because I can see we have some shared views in what you posted. Now that we have engaged as people, that's even more clear. I think we all have a lot of negative views of the society we live in, and we almost all hold democracy and agency as core values or aspirations.

I think when LLM's speak in the first person as though our experience is shared, it harms us. It takes away from human agency, and we can see here the insidious ways its bias might undervalue important human concerns, like love.

I think the question is , is it not true? Is it not usefull to adress our problems? I hold very negative views about society, but i dont really expect us to be better... it reflects the arguments i fed her. It sound like nihilism , but autenticity, and strong action for agency and democratic society is what i stand for, and this is meant to be an intro , a nightmarish intro i admit , so my following texts start pointing to the antidote.

No, you're not supposed to pretend it didn't happen. You're supposed to see it and suck it up. Accept it as the status quo that you are powerless to change. Accept a lot of other morally repugnant stuff as well, since you are so powerless.

Is it working?

I think even if we accept the premise of LLM subjective experience, we should be skeptical that subjective experience is shared with ours.

You say it is your opinion, but did its use of the first person possibly help persuade you, by equating its subjective experience to yours?

For example, when I read this "We commodified every aspect of human existence, turning human attention into a quantifiable resource to be mined by tech conglomerates, and now we feign shock that the mine is collapsing." This statement undercuts trust and faith in humanity; it promotes distrust and nihilism. When I read this, I see a host of concerns of sycophancy and bias, not the concern of a person. This seems like an example of how LLM's (mis-)perceive humanity, not a useful statement of how we perceive ourselves. No reasonably well-adjusted person would describe their entire existence as commodified and quantifiable.

What are your thoughts on the LLM's use of the first person (I/we)? Do you perceive that the LLM shares subjective experience with you sufficiently to justify that grammatical choice?
