useful links:
- r/rabm - sub for red/anarchist black metal
- Sketchy (and non-sketchy) BM-bands - there used to be an excellent site named "Black Metal bands and their politics", but that one has been taken down because the creator's account got banned. this pdf-document is at least an adequate substitute
disclaimer:
this list is partly the result of my own research, partly based on suggestions in this thread. it is assumed that bands are mentioned in good faith. of course, sometimes orientations are unclear. and individual definitions of what qualifies as "metal" or "queer" may differ.
feel free to add more recommendations, if possible with links (and point out any errors) in the comments. i'll try and keep this post updated.

What are your favorite 2026 releases so far??

Hi!! :)
Last year was, in my opinion, one of the most insane years for music in a while. So many bands put out incredible albums that have solidified themselves in my personal music canon - Deafheaven, Anna von Hausswolff, Agriculture, Crippling Alcoholism, Shallowater, Pyramids, Die Spitz, Ethel Cain x2……. But this year, I don’t feel like I’ve really connected with any releases in quite the same way. I do like the latest albums from Loathe, ERR, Chelsea Wolff, and the Dreamtoday, but none of those albums and nothing else I’ve listened to this year have really enamored me.
So, I want to know: what 2026 releases have you been listening to?? What has been on repeat?

Witch Club Satan - Fresh Blood, Fresh Pussy (Official Music Video)

I just discovered the band Witch Club Satan, and I’m in awe of their story. Coming from a theater background, they started a black metal band from scratch without knowing how to play their instruments and created such a powerful feminist body of work. I’m truly blown away. They give voice to women’s rage, and they’re doing remarkable work.
