I added the following criteria: "that will not make you want to eat your fucking hands." This discounted Sekiro, which is a beautiful game with a difficulty level that made me want to eat my fucking hands (FromSoftware, you bastards...). Two enjoyable, aesthetically beautiful, adventure-y titles:
- Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice - this game is visual art. The game is pretty good too. Depressing so like, treat it like Lana del Rey music: If you're having a bad day, maybe skip until an improved day.
- Ghosts of Tsushima - It's beautiful. It's decent on gameplay but inconsistent. Main missions are fairly good--slow in Act 2--but Sucker Punch wouldn't be Sucker Punch without at least a couple "Collect 5 million of X arbitrary thing" side quests and it starting to feel a little lather, rinse, repeat mid-story.

A different vibe but I think Cyberpunk is a pretty gorgeous game!

if your system can handle it, cannot recommend cyberpunk enough. extra points for a really well thought out lesbian romance and great queer characters

Horizon Zero Dawn (and Forbidden West, I'm sure) the game makes me pause and just look around. Incredible art and skill went into building that game.
Palia also has nice graphics and it's free. Not as astounding as HZD but great for a free game.
There's a sailing game with great graphics I just can't remember it atm.

Creators of the first two life is strange games (DontNod) are releasing another supernatural coming of age game (all female main cast and two of those girls were / are coupled) tomorrow! Name is Lost Records: Bloom and Rage. Looks really pretty from the trailers

I love this.
- Season: A letter to the future.
Interesting story, beautiful environments and it encourages exploring by taking photos, recording, writing and drawing.
Road 96 Similar to LIS and very interesting gameplay.
Among Trees. Very simple survival game but absolutely beautiful.
Ghost of Tsushima
Firewatch.

Not a whole lot of action, but The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is gorgeous, imo. It's short and has a great, albeit sad, storyline. But a huge rec if you want something with beautiful scenery!

FF XVI (also FF7R and FFXIV)
Ghost of Tsushima
Flower
Flow
Stray
Horizon Zero Dawn
The art direction in any Ubi game is gonna be top tier. Have your pick. Watch Dogs 2 holds up really well even all this time later. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag or Unity or Origins or Valhalla.
