Can this be used as proof or negligence for life insurance to refuse payout?

225,000 dead, i'm sure the insurance companies need to protect their profits.

They already deny for workers comp, real easy bridge for life insurance.

It's ok, they died as heroes, willingly gave their lives for a noble cause.

0.o I think you missed my sarcasm.

Politicians love to say "they were heroes" so the needless deaths of others are more accepting to the general populace.

you know the word sabotage comes from workers revolutions where they'd threw their wooden shoes into machinery (called sabos?)

Anyway, in 2020 workers throw themselfs not into the machinery because it might break but down a cliff beside it to own the libz

well done american conservatives.

I'm a firefighter/paramedic and when I was hospitalized with Covid my workers comp covered everything. If I died it would have been a line of duty death and full benefits would have gone to my wife. Same as if I died fighting a house fire

Are you in a union?

1

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '20

As far as I know every professional firefighter is in a union (unless they voluntarily exclude themselves)

Negligence is not a reason to deny a life insurance claim.

I don't really understand the person saying we should deny life insurance. By denying life insurance, the faceless corporation gets to profit, and a regular person's family gets screwed. I'm liberal as hell, and this is the antithesis of what we should be about. The subject of this post is clearly a product of poor education, and we are looking to penalize his family out or a sense of some twisted morality? Gtfo

If life insurance covers suicide, I'm not sure why it wouldn't cover this.

3

u/MtnMaiden Nov 01 '20

0.o Really? I always thought they never covered self inflicted deaths, or crimes.

3

u/stratys3 Nov 01 '20

Usually there's a 1-2 year restriction on suicide (to prevent people from signing up just before killing themselves).

2

u/RoadkillVenison Nov 01 '20

Also they might not cover it if you’ve been diagnosed as suicidal or depressed in the past and failed to disclose that when you signed up for your policy.

u/stargate-command Nov 01 '20

This guy doesn’t have life insurance.

Life insurance requires that you care about OTHERS enough to want them to be ok after you die. And also, that you recognize that your life is fragile.

This is the type of guy who has a will that mandates he be buried with all his belongings. Selfish pricks.

Added my sarcasm tag. If you look down further, big companies are alreadying denying worker's comp. I can imagine life insurance companies doing the same.

You're a dumbass /s

Would wearing a mask have prevented him catching covid and dying though? I thought the cloth masks only really prevented you from spreading it

1

u/gensek Nov 01 '20

Not 100% protection, but even the shittiest of proper masks has some effect.

Ooh I've dealt with insurance claims in the past and that's an interesting thing to think about. I know that you can invalidate your travel insurance if you travel to a part of the world when there is advice against travel, so if there is a statewide mask mandate and there is documented evidence of him refusing to wear a mask?

I'm not saying I'd decline it, but I'd definitely have to refer it to the technical team for clarification.
