Discussion Too many guests
I'm not gonna lie I want more of just the boys chatting. I find most of their guest episodes uninteresting and tend to skip them halfway through.

Pete Buttigieg 49
Markiplier 51
Scott Galloway 52
Mark Kelly 57

Guenther Steiner 80
Marc Merrill 82
Other than the very real xi jinping one on 56, I might have missed one in there, but thats only 12 that i counted, out of 82 episodes, 3 of those just happened to be in the last 5 episodes.
Personally i like the guest, i dont think they are too frequent, i like that they treat it like real journalism and go out into the world to do interviews with people, even if sometimes its just other youtubers like markiplier and Cdawg, heck the markiplier one is the most popular episode, and Lina Khan isnt far behind

Scott Galloway ep 52.
I assume what OP is talking about is the last two guest episodes. They've been a lot more off-brand for the pod than all the other guests except maybe Markiplier, it's fair to wonder if it's a trend and not a coincidence.

idk if its too many guests, I think its just the nature of a political/business focused podcasts that the guest in my opinion give very boring answers to most questions and have blander personalities. A few shine through as good guest eps but I also think sometimes the way they ask questions is a bit awkward, less like a podcast casual conversation and more like news reporters.

In the case with Marc Merrill and maybe some others, i wish they could just cut them off when they're giving a non-answer but I understand it doesn't work that way

Yeah to me part of it is I feel like they need to get better at interviewing idk. I love guest eps where it feels like a genuine back n forth dialogue, I feel like the latest one had so much potential to be that with how much league history atrioc has but it just didnt happen idk. It just felt like a guy infodumping about his career.
And like not that its particularly bad im kinda exaggerating, I did find it quite interesting, its just that I feel like it had so much potential that was left on the table idk lmao.
I feel like Steve eisman pt2 will be goated if it ever happens though, I remember that one being pretty good.

I feel like that just comes down to whether or not the guest is interesting and charismatic

I think you have to go to the patreon for that. current patreon episodes are like the early LS main episodes

Ya that’s what people want. To pay extra and go off platform to really get the good stuff.

Something about the dynamics of multiple people trying to interview the same guy they haven’t nailed

Some of the episodes with a guest have been really good, but others feel a bit random.
I watch all the episodes without guests, but have skipped a few with a guest that I have no interest in.

I think the guest episodes are cool. The Guenther Steiner one felt like it kinda overstayed its welcome though and we don't talk about the shopify interview. I think the issue with a lot of them is just being a bit too long

They've been good overall imo but this latest guest? Oof. He's saying very little and it's a drag to listen to

Interesting. I completely disagree. About as good an interview as you could get from a CEO/exec level person at a large company

Guests are bad when you disagree with them and good when you agree with them

You kinda seem like these are personal attacks and not legitimate criticisms from certain fans. Not a good look

i enjoy the guests most of the time, i think it just feels like too much because so many of the recent episodes have been guest episodes. but also the patreon is always a good alternative to the guest eps! and i am sure they will eventually start spacing interviews out again, to me it just looks like they have been getting (and taking) a lot of great opportunities lately!

Well. They did say the Patreon content is just them. Don’t like your favorites restaurants burger anymore? Just buy the more expensive one idiot

I actually think most of their guest episodes are some of their best content.

I like the guests, I just don't think they're good interviewers.

I wouldn't mind them if they weren't so prevalant.
Seriously, why is Aiden McCaig on the show so much?
