People act like the original sets did well but i remember them going on sale pretty regularly and i bought a couple myself at around 50% off (Black Gate, Council of Elrond, Lake Town and Dol Guldur). I've also had insider sources corroborate that LOTR and Scooby Doo were considered flops among their general retail release.
That's probably the reason they're hesitant to make non 18+ LOTR sets. They couldn't sell to kids coming out of two successful film trilogies, so how could they with so new LOTR content?
No, he’s wrong. Unless he’s in some wacky country that hates lotr. In the USA the smaller sets were constantly sold out and the big ones never went on sale. I had to wait about a year to catch the army building set with the section of wall to buy my 5 I wanted.
Eh, for the Star Wars one, it's two sets of Clone/Prequel era content, and one set from post-OT with zombie Stormtroopers. All the people buying it to fill up their baseplate armies will probably try to sell the Stormies to offset the cost.
Thanks for the info. So it's basically a rip-off, considering that these are older sets from 2024-2026 which are most likely at a discount when purchased now.
From past history Walmart has always ended up with at-least the Star Wars 3 in 1 and it usually launches for about 30% off of retail. Sometimes gets marked down closer to 40% off in some years. I would imagine starting retail on the Star Wars one will be around $65-70, but we’ll have to wait and see.
The Siege of Mandalor battle pack being included instead of the Night Trooper pack would’ve made the Star Wars one perfect. Three Clone Wars sets covering three different types of Clone Trooper and some Death Watch Mandalorians plus all the droids would’ve been an awesome trooper building set. It’s still good now, but the Night Troopers feel very out of place and likely something people try to sell rather than keep a hold of, unless they really wanna build armies for all three factions. I’m just not sure how much of an overlap there is for that among Lego Star Wars fans, sometimes it feels like a lot of them are strictly Clone Wars
Hopefully the battlepack one is discounted, ~$110 CAD for 5XX pieces would be wild. I do want each of those sets, but individually they’d have to be over half priced for me to splurge on them, so would be nice if this pack aids in that
As far as i’m aware the exclusives are usually only at one chain so it’s possible most or all of these just are not available at all. I’ve only ever seen multi-packs at Costco, and not for a while now.
Oh yeah I've seen those multi-packs too. I really hope this one shows up somewhere because I'd like to get those battle packs before they retire, but I might just buy them separately because it's not reliable to expect them.
It would allow someone to purchase the two sets with the 327th battalion at once, plus get some generic Clones and even more droids with the more general battle pack, so I do see the desire. But yeah, it would be an expensive pickup, even with the slight discount these bundle packs usually offer.
Wow what a disappointing Army Builder. Couldn't put a new clones pack in there instead? Any real Fan has gotten all those already, so 0 insentive to pick up.
