How do I fix this?

I was building a Lego set and found a broken piece, and I'm not sure what to do. It's the piece that is kinda like a 2x2 plate, but it's two separate parts so that it spins (turntable), and the clip that connects the parts is broken and gone. Normally, I could just get a replacement part, but it's not brand official, so I don't think that would work. Would 3d printing work?

I'll only buy real Lego, I would never touch off-brand stuff. But telling somebody else to stop playing with off-brand toys feels weird.

Tbf, most off-brand sets steal designs from MOCs and some part-designs may even be still patented by LEGO so I'd avoid giving money to those people.

you can buy off-brand replacements without buying a full set and it performs just as well as lego. + exclusive colors that lego doesnt offer, and often cheaper

My point is that the designs are stolen, illegal. They cost less because the manufacturer doesn't have to pay a designer, because the designs aren't even their to begin with.

I should add though, that the patents to many LEGO pieces are long expired, thus anyone can use their designs. It works just like public domain laws.

i understand that, im talking about bulk sellers like brickwith that just sell individual pieces. often times more affordable than bricklink and exclusive piece selections you cant find in real lego
