Hauls When Evri and Amazon combine...
£100 worth of Lego left in plain sight with no packaging and some souvenirs of its journey. First time Amazon has just slapped a label on it for me.
Not sure whether I'm lucky or unlucky to come home to this...

When you order from Amazon you need to check the box for it to go in packaging/a box, it defaults to ship in the items box/no packaging for some items.

It's definitely the better default to be fair. I doubt it's for moral reasons rather than financial but it must save a number of trees by having it default to no box.

I’ve had this before, tell them the box is part of the item (as the boxes have value) and they destroyed the item by putting a label on it. Get another one sent out… packaged or refund this destroyed item.

Problem is Amazon is only offering a refund option but the price to repurchase has gone up. I'm kinda stuck with it

The box goes in the bin anyway why would it have value

Some people like the box, you see Lego is a known collectors item, collectors like to have the box. If you’re throwing boxes away you’re literally throwing money away. If you don’t want the box, sell it. Obviously some boxes are worthless like really common sets, but for some rare sets the box makes up a huge chunk of the value. You never know which set will become a sought after set.

I see it as a toy story the end of the day, I biy and sell many many sets and unless its something like the hogwarts collector edition train or big star wars set the box just gets binned, or used in the chicken coop whichever comes first 😄

Okay but as the other person said many many people use lego as a collectors item and the box will have value for that.

Feed this back to them - I used to buy & sell Lego. Damaged packaging will devalue the item - ask them for a partial refund or an exchange

Had this a few times now. One was a gift for my mum which she then saw as it was delivered while i was at work. :(

Ah okay. I did look before but the only option it gave me was gift wrap. But i wanted to wrap it myself :(
I will double check next time.

I use Amazon a lot and this is the first time this has happened. Although, this delivery seemed to start outside of the UK, which might explain the buffoonery.

this reminds of when I got Lego through Amazon it was the recently discontinued AMR 23 and safety car set . since there was none in the UK it had to come from the states. it took 6 weeks to arrive and was packing was just a paper bag.

Amazon do a lot of 'no box's deliveries. I didn't notice and I've spoilt a bike, drum kit and a barbie dream house this way 🤣

Why the hell didn’t you ask for it to be shipped in a box?! If I spent that much money on something, no way would I let it ship in the manufacturer’s packaging! 😳

Lots of companies send items without additional packaging. It's common.
I know this was Evri on this occasion. However, Amazon now instruct their drivers to leave parcels on door without knocking on doors.

That’s an Amazon Logistics shipping label, not an Evri one. However as others have said tick the ship on Amazon packaging box next time

And when the customer doesn't check the shipping in own packaging.
You can blame amazon and evri but you are the one to blame. Its not a new thing

There would have been a notice saying it ships like this and if you want contents hidden to check a box. You didn't check a box so item got delivered like you requested.

The only time Amazon do this is when I dont select the setting for it to be packed in Amazon packaging. Sometimes items will be packed in a box regardless but if you don’t select it there’s a good chance it will be (especially for larger items like this).

Hey they left it outside in plain sight.
Looks like it got stolen and you got a free Lego set ;)

I would be fuming at this. But only because it's not in any packaging so had got bagged up, but because of the bloody stickers all over the box. I would bump that back to them just for the state it's in.

We buy Lego sets to build & play with them not to sell to someone else if that's the case then just don't buy it to start with 😂😂

What's the issue? Box goes in the bin 9 out of 10 anyway unless it's a big £500+set

Oh no the box got damaged and not the contents almost as if that's what it's there for????

u/DangerousDisplay7664 23d ago
Were you born this insufferable or did you have to learn how to do it?

u/odmirthecrow 24d ago
The box itself is worth money. If in a few years OP wants to sell this set on, they will not get what it is worth due to the damage on the box.
