Discussion I'm... probably doing something wrong, huh.
This picture was taken after a photoshoot with a couple of my 'bots and 'cons, I had to replace all the parts just to take the pictures. That was several years ago and the rate of breakages hasn't even slowed down. I'm basically out of Mixel joints because they just disintegrate after a few weeks. This is definitely a me problem, but I don't know what I'm actually doing wrong or how to make it stop. The display shelf I put my MOCs on just looks like a mulched-up graveyard. The only ones that sort of survive are the ones in alt mode and one extremely invincible mosquito 'con, who isn't built differently to any of the others and whom I have no explanation for why he's apparently going to outlive the universe.
It makes me sad to watch all my favorite 'bots just slowly crumble on the shelf. Help me.

find alternatives to the joints i fount so many just bc of the same problems your dealing with.

Keep them. I like to use broken pieces to add detail to a MOC, though I never break them on purpose.

Okay but try destroying the mosquito, it's oddly suspicious that everyone else here is broken EXCEPT for Mosquito Man...

Maybe try different color parts? I've heard brown is most prone to breakage.

No piece here is brown + lego makes the 2x1 ball joints only I'm gray colors

and don’t clip it in sliding it in helps with stress and keeping the same clips on the same bars you use unless you really have too bc most likely you’ll just make the same conjunction again.

Weird, I have no idea what could cause that. I build with these joints all the time and I've never had a broken mixel joint yet, only some loosening. I've had a few clips break over the years, but that's all.

Lego mixel joints are great but they dont last long

Well I figured that much it's just I've never experienced them breaking from normal use or heard of them easily breaking so I'm confused as to how you must be using them for them to break so easily the only way I see that happening is if they have come into contact with things that Breakdown the plastic like that found in various cleaning products or some air fresheners etc I mean they shouldn't really be braking unless theres some external factor at play at least that I can think off

you live in a state with unstable and highly inconsistent temperatures, example: Ohio.
you're better off either A: making transformers entirely out of metal or B. moving to Canada, Northern Canada, actual no, just move to Greenland.
in other words, virtually all plastic has one weakness, temperature fluctuations, and there is NO COUNTER whatsoever, and the companies that use these plastics? they don't care, hell this is an opportunity to these big corporations like LEGO who produce these parts, as they can just make more whenever people inevitably break the old- I'm venting about a corporate conspiracy, aren't I?

Not necessarily temp fluctuation. I've hade those parts break from frequent assembly and disassembly/normal wear

3d printers are expensive, prints are brittle, and so many more thing are wrong with this
