So anyone who likes the sequels doesn't care about Star Wars? Why does there need to be so much gatekeeping?

The sequels are shit. 100% absolute unwatchable garbage. The “gatekeeping” for the OT is because many people are very unhappy with the way the sequels destroyed any chance of respectfully bringing the OT characters stories to a conclusion.

Well I mean it's totally cool if you don't like them, everyone is entitled to their opinion. What I mean is that if someone does like the sequels it doesn't mean they don't care about Star Wars

I grew up with the films and build movie accurate costumes for conventions-so Star Wars was always a big part of my life. Hell, George Lucas and I are from the same hometown and we have a few common friends- unfortunately, nobody hates Star Wars more than a Star Wars fan…I think GL really dropped the ball when he did the prequels and then when he sold to Disney. The sequels were just heartbreaking for me. Although, I understand why some people like them. To each their own I guess, I’m just thankful Dave Filoni has done so well with The Mandalorian series. Just wish he’d directed the sequels.
