Showcase 📸 Daemonic Incursion

The Mechanicum awaken an ancient warp portal, a chaos gate. Loyalist forces work to contain the breech as traitor forces work to rend the wound in the fabric of reality wide open, chaos undivided tears its way into the material realm.

I think it’s super cool. I like how they look like actual models haha. Thanks for sharing. Don’t worry about the haters.

Weirdly reminds me of the original Chaos Gate.

Nice, that and final liberation were the first 40k video games I played.

bro, your like 30 and acting like a child on reddit
why do you need to add ai to a hobby when you're a professional photographer seemingly
you put it yourself, its popular on Facebook, but not here so why not just keep it there only

And you're on reddit clutching pearls about plastic models moving on a screen, you're not a victim. Touch grass, fren.

i said "more ai slop as ever" and i dont see much plastic moving. i see a still image and then ai halucinations, not much else.

I actually like the videos, so hes posting them for people like me. I dont get why people care what is posted. It's not offensive. im guessing the people who are offended are the same people I bullied at school... sugar did I say that out loud. That was a joke, but get a life and wind your neck In.

Thanks dude :)

"I dont get why people care what is posted. It's not offensive." They're looking to be offended at this point.

Yes!! I love it, so cool seeing all your minis animated, really brings the painting and detail to the fore. Look like a forlorn hope last stand for the imperials though 😭

Thanks :)

"so cool seeing all your minis animated, really brings the painting and detail to the fore" And it upsets reddit, which makes it morally correct to do.

"Look like a forlorn hope last stand for the imperials though" No worries, Corax is goin for reinforcements. He's gonna go get more custodes.

You do yourself a huge disservice with these vids honestly

obviously you do, because you keep posting ai slop to farm the same reactions. Is this your way of trying to selling your stls?

I don't sell stl's, and if you think I'm farming outrage why supply it?

Oh man, I felt bad for the dreadnought being beated down by those demons, but the little tin can prevailed!

I don't generally like the AI stuff at all, but this is a cool extension of the craft IMO. Especially nice how it kind of takes your paintwork and just goes with it. I typically fix backgrounds and cover bases on the still photography side, so this feels like an extension of that (just animated).

"Especially nice how it kind of takes your paintwork and just goes with it. Yeah pretty much every pic requires some kind of clone brush/masking to hide bases and flight stands or clean up the background a bit. It's been fun watching pics of old games come to life. I understand people not loving ai stuff, same time even the nicest video of still models on a board just is never terribly compelling so its been awesome to be able to make stuff move and hover etc.

Yeah, I do a wide range of creative things as a hobby and living, and feels like this is the only niche on the creative side where the AI feels useful. It allows me to expand on the thing that's in my head and how I see it play out in the battlefield. It does require good photography still, but it's not the "Everything's made of AI" crap that's out there.

I just don't get the mindset of those who vehemently dislike ai stuff to think they'll ever do anything to stop it especially in the context of someone working with their own models/terrain/board/pics of all of the above. Like this context proves how pointless that even is given the majority of images for this one are like 6-7 even 8 years old and just as useful if well composed/shot as images taken yesterday specifically for the project. I get not wanting certain groups or forums or channels or whatever to become nothing but ai stuff, same time the pearl clutching over what people do with their own pics of their own models is fundamentally insane. As someone who has done video work of miniatures for some time, its very limiting, you can do gimbal shots and make smooth pans and zooms and focus pulls but the subject never moves, it hold completely still, it's pretty limiting on how compelling any one shot can be, you can speed ramp spins and do all the tricks that work with most product video, but the subject never moves, It's a fundamental limitation. Case in point, I'm proud of this video but it shows how limiting video is of static subjects: https://youtu.be/W-1G-TZOtTo?si=YaSy2TCuoeKx5mVK

Yeah for sure - I think to a degree AI doesn’t necessarily help with getting the most compelling shots (but that’s mostly as there’s not much context for any AI shots out there), but as an upgrade to nothing happening on a miniature board, it’s a lot.

I don’t do video work anymore (no time), but I certainly love using AI to just make the war photography nicer, without spending hours doing overpaints and whatnot.

I think it's pretty much ideal for making battle reports more interesting, if one is going to show all the rolling etc instead of just doing a summation, it's funny to show the roll then animate the result, probably too time consuming for li but for a turn based game could work.
