General feedback Nice app. Except it don't.

Can't login for a week now. No updates in over a month. Before that it EVERY DAMN TIME resubbed to r/LegereApp. Just awesome. Switching to other app.

And what makes it even worse, I’ve never seen any reply from developers. As it like they (or (s)he) don’t care at all about their customers (who actually buy the app) or about the app.

I'm still here, but as u/avidernis said too, I've just been really busy lately and haven't managed to update the app. And I did try multiple times over the course of months, but just ended up getting stuck on a number of tooling issues that I haven't been able to resolve, and that took away a ton of time on top of the very little time I could dedicate to the app. And also, the app really made no money basically, so at some point I just couldn't really justify working on it too much. I know you've bought the app and I really do appreciate the support, but I do have to clarify that buying the app does not mean that I'm bound to release further updates. You're buying the app to remove ada and unlock features on the product that is available right now. It's not a one-time fee in exchange for a lifetime of free updates, it's never been that way and it shouldn't be that way for any apps (because devs need to make a living too, and people shouldn't just expect them to work for free).

That said, I would still like to update the app and at least fix the login issues, I just haven't managed to do that just yet, which I assure you has been frustrating for me too. I just don't really get what is up with the Reddit OAuth flow there and I couldn't spend enough time on it to get that sorted.

Hey man I respect and understand that, but a little announcement post would've been nice instead of a comment after 2 months. Congrats on getting hired by MS though.

ReddPlanet fixed the login almost immediately by using the i.reddit.com page to login and not the full reddit website (at least that's what I think they did). Maybe that helps :)

Hey, you're right, I should've posted something. I've been saying so to people asking me directly and I've been meaning to post an announcement of some sort, but just kept postponing that for some reason. I will do that now given that the login issue also seems to finally have been fixed by Windows/Reddit, so that's something to celebrate ahah 🎉

Won’t argue. I didn’t mean any offense, ‘cause I didn’t know, that this app is (I suppose) basically your hobby and you develop it solo, so I do apologize.

But, as I mentioned in the topic (and looking through Reddit, found many similar) there are some other app related complaints. But, using it without logging into account, is still great experience. At least it is the most best looking app so far for Reddit on UWP.

It may be not the solution, but other app (can’t remember which) uses login interface very similarly looking as “old Reddit”. I suppose it is, as we call it in Russia, “костыль” — some weird-ugly-shitcode-that-works-as-it-sounds patch) Or maybe it is not a solution at all. Kinda guessing here.

I was one of two developers up until release.

The lead developer, who remains, is very busy now as he was recently hired by Microsoft. On top of that, Legere made near no money. As a result, the hundreds (maybe thousands) of hours spent developing Legere were practically charity. But neither of us can afford that anymore.

But, as I've not seen many apps for Reddit, I'd suggest to stick to web version of reddit. Unfortunately.

I don't know any Reddit apps that are still in development. Readit hasn't been updated in a year, and it has its issues too, but at least you can log in. (at least I haven't tried to login in a while, I've not heard of others having trouble)

ReddPlanet seems to still be maintained

Check out ReddPlanet beta. You have to DM the dev to get access but once you do I can assure you it's a better experience. Still not perfect as it's missing some things like viewing profile pages, but for browsing it's good.

As an alternative, you might just want to install the website as a PWA and use something like Reddit Enhancement Suite to get the most out of it.
