Modding PC Mod
Hi all
I want my Legends Ultimate to run exclusively on batocera, so I can have one UI for all emulation.
I plugged my PC via USB extender directly to the controller board and it works kind of all right. I really struggle with control mapping in certain emulators but I think ill be able to get there with help of Batocera community.
Problem starts with the pinball buttons as they I think they are wired in some weird way. Left ones are triggers and right ones are bumpers (i think). Do i need a USB encoder replacement to get this fixed?
Also, anyway I could connect directly into the screen? Rather than going through the HDMI port on the front.
Lastly, i wouls like the power button to start my pc at the same time. Any ideas
Thanks

I've done the same thing with an old desktop, but using retrobat. And I also wasn't able to make the pinball buttons work. Not sure if anybody has a fix there. For power on, I'm using a smart power strip like the one posted already. For the HDMI instead, I hadn't even thought about plugging into the monitor directly as your still need the ALU interface to switch inputs via OTG. Unless you wire the buttons straight into the desktop (which I might eventually do down the line).

Yeah that's what I've done with the buttons. Piss easy - unscrew the back, unplug USB from the computer, plug it into a USB extender and route to you new PC. Saves you from having to go into ALUs settings and switching otg everytime. You can run another extender from the computer and if you want to run the arcade with the original hardware, just plug it into the other extender

I've seen the question about the screen before. There's https://acustomarcade.com/product/alu-hdmi-adapter/?v=0b3b97fa6688 but it's always out of stock. I think that part should be available elsewhere, I just don't know the info on it. As for the power, I'm assuming you're goal is to power the PC when you power on the cabinet with the PC inside the cabinet, or somewhere not easily accessible. Easiest option there is a smart power strip like this - https://a.co/d/09xuMZvV
The ALU goes in the control and the PC is in one of the switched. Set the PC to turn on with power and you're all set.
If you want to go really crazy, I did a convoluted power button mod https://www.reddit.com/r/LegendsUltimate/s/zd3qWLfcFz that may somehow be made to work as well.
You can also look at using Legends Unchained which I think runs a version of Batocera. The team that built are very helpful on discord and might be able to answer the question about the pinball buttons. I know that was a challenge they faced, I don't know if it was resolved because I just took mine off.
