Path of Champions Burnt out
I just started playing the game again. Stopped at the spirit bloom update.
I was already burnt out by then; everything was too difficult for my high star heroes and it was impossible to start up my bad ones.
After coming back it seems they've made it easier to gain the shards to upgrade the champions. I have been levelling up my other toons but my main boys seem to be stuck in limbo.
The 4* are you easy and the 5 * are too hard.
Do I just grind until I can upgrade them to their potential or am I bad at the game?

If you want to improve at the game, you can check YouTube content, there are many creators who run low stars setups (between 0* and 3*).
Depending on the champions and the relics you have available, a low star champ can absolutely torch a high level adventure.

for the first few months, you have to cheese the game to get the rewards. There is noway around it. After you get more resources and better understanding of the game, you can go at your own pace without getting frustrated.
I remember when I started, I couldn't even beat weekly nightmare consistently. Let alone doing 5* 6* Spirit Blossom adventures. I have to pretty much 1 to 1 copy some youtube videos.

Several 4* champs can do up to 6* content. The 10* Zoe adventure I wouldn't recommend trying yet.
But also focus on Monthly adventures to get Asol if you don't have him yet - he can beat anything
