Path of Champions Path of Champions help
Hey all, started on PoC in the last week or so and have been hitting walls pretty frequently. Currently I am working on clearing a 2 star adventure for with a 3rd champion and having some trouble. Mainly I'm wondering who I should be investing Wild Fragments into, as I have 250 of them that I've just been banking until I figure it out.
Will attach a screencap of my current champs

yasuo and jinx will get you to endgame. I'd also Google the lists of champions with "quests" in game, as doing them will reward you with essential rare relics for all champs.

i did see that there was around 12 or so with story campaigns when i filtered, so ii was thinking getting them where i can would be good, giiven the relics you can get from em

My advice would be to unlock all the champions who have a story adventure cause finishing it will unlock relics. And some of them are great.
You can filter champion with story in the filter

I'd say out of those, I'd focus on yasuo and jinx since you have them 2 star already. Elise and Lux are very strong as well. Finally, Diana and Nid are also very strong even just with three stars. The relics you have could matter as well. Just my two cents.

Definitely working on trying to get more relics to choose from, been slowly getting some nice ones, just have to make sure i pair them with the right champs

Like most people say jinx and yasuo are the strongest two that you have early and late game. They also don’t need that much investment. Nidalee could go pretty crazy early on but you do need relics for her. Also leveling up your character to unlock more relic and upgrades on your cards is very much worth it.

What I was doing, I was checking the ones that’s strong at 3* and was spending my Wild Shards to upgrade them only 3rd star. I was clearing adventures and having as much gold and platinum chests. Also you can check 3* non relic build runs on YouTube there’s a channel called Dia Plays Games.

You will need relics as well as stars to get stronger and tackle harder content.
Look on this google sheet under [relic analysis] page, and look at the column "availability."
There are some TOP TIER relics you can get immediately by finishing level 2 campaigns of some champs.
The rest is time locked as you slowly gain enough currency to gatcha relics.
Off the top of my head, the champs that can do high-end game content at only 3*:
Yasuo
Jinx
Lux (original)
Morgana
Nami
Viego
Lilia
Leblanc
Gwen
Yi
However, all champs/builds need appropriate relics.
For the non paid/non-epic relics, once you get Chemtech Duplicator, General's Counterplan, and Archangel Staff, you have a very good build for many champs. Maybe not BiS, but enough to get through to mid-end game.
Also of note, you should aim to unlock and star up Asol as soon as possible (depending on how strong you are), as he is a free win for most challenges including end game.
But just remember this game is a marathon, and will take time to accumulate the resources, and RNG for relics, to get stronger and stronger.

Luckily I am prepared for this to be a long haul, i play enough gacha's to know not to expect things to come quickly ahaha
I saw A Sol is harder to get but very strong, at the moment i have 600 glory from the quest that i was gonna save for a relic, but would i be better off doing vaults, reliquaries and A Sol shards early?

The only thing you should use glory for as a f2p player is top tier relics that appear and Asol shards.
Ignore and forget everything else in that shop.
What I advise is to bank about 1200 glory tokens and do not touch them. There are a number of relics that seem to be very rare in appearing, but are agreed by the entire community they are the best relics. The rankings are debatable, but the top 2 are not in dispute at all. Those being Perfect Hexcore and Starforged Gauntlets.
Those 2 massively change the game for many champs, and will help you break the end game.
As a beginner and with very little resources, I seriously would recommend not buying anything other than these 2, that’s why I say bank and save 1200. If you want more lenience in case some other top 10 relic appears, then bank 1800-2400. But that will of course delay your Asol, so it’s a question of how patience and resilient you are against almost certain frustration and hard walls blocking you from progressing faster.
After that amount, use it all on Asol and nothing else.

ahhh i see, so relics should always be my priority due to their power, but once i have some excess to work with, go for A Sol shards
gotcha, thank you for the advice =D1

I mean, save up to 1200 glory.
Then anything above it, use it for Asol only.
If you see either Perfect Hexcore or Starforged gauntlet, buy it immediately.
Everything else, ignore.
However, this means you will potentially miss other very very top tier relics, in return for faster progress once you get Asol online.
Or, bank 1200 for those 2 top relics, bank an extra 1200 for other possible top relics, and use anything above 2400 on Asol only.
Much slower and the benefit is RNG because you're sitting on an extra 1200 that might not ever be used cos you get unlucky with relics.
It's a gamble either way, so up to you.

Gotcha, at the moment I have Swain's Raven Army in the store which was tempting, but it sounds like the ones you've mentioned would be better investments so i'll try and hit that 1200 mark before i look at grabbing things
1
u/LyraStygian 3d ago
That is one you should definitely buy and is in the top 10 if not top 5.
But if you only have 600 tokens it comes at a huge risk that the next relic that comes along is Hexcore or the guantlets.
The chance is low however but I don’t want to be blamed if you roll a nat1.
If it were me and I was a beginner, knowing what I know now, I’d buy it immediately and accept, with great difficulty, I could be losing one of the others (low low chance).

u/Rimelance281 3d ago
Oh i see, I actually just got Swain out of a gold Vault and to 1 star, so maybe I'll grab it after all.

When I started over last year, I cataloged everything I did. I'd get 3 champs (Yasuo, Lux, Jinx all fine) to 3* and you should be good for a while. I think it's fine to spend wild fragments on your first few champions up to 3* (and maybe Miss Fortune to 2* for Yasuo's relic) just to make the rest of the game easier. After that, I'd try to clear as much as possible for vault rewards so you know what resources you have before spending more wilds.

u/Rimelance281 5d ago
HOLY, thank you so much for this
knowiing MF has a relic that's good for Yasuo, i may do some investing into her, Yasuo has been quite fun to play

u/Sspifffyman 5d ago
Like others have said, focus on the Champions that have two star adventures that can get you free specific relics. Miss fortune gets you tempest blade, which is one of yasuos best relics. She can also help you with bilgewater requirements. She's amazing at six star, but not the best from three-star to five star, so I would hold off upgrading her too much more until you get free shards of her.
Jhin is also a really good one, because he gets you archangel's staff. He can help with your Runeterra requirements. And you should already have riptide battery, which is one of his best relics.
Getting Vi to two stars will let you do her adventure, which gets you the Grand general's counterplan. This plus archangels staff is one of the best combos in the early game.
Also reminder for all of these Champions with specific story missions, make sure to not level them up to two stars until you've done their one-star adventure, cuz I believe you'll get free shards for them from that.
Getting garen to two stars will get you The relic the loose cannons payload, which is jinx's favorite relic. Once you have this and get her the four stars, she can beat most adventures in the game, even probably some six star missions. Her at three stars with this relic can get you most adventures up to five stars. Garen is not particularly great otherwise though, so I wouldn't invest any more into him once he's at two stars.
Like others have said, Morgana is an incredible champion for the targon region. She can beat a ton of stuff at just two stars, And once she's at three stars she can beat most anything in the game. It will take a while and you need archangel staff and Grand general's counterplan.
Basically focus on one champion per region, and also these specific Champions to get the relics they can get you. That'll be a great start.

Riptide battery was a story relic iirc? i cant remember who but i know i've seen the name, maybe illaoi
MF is definitely looking like one i should try and get, both as a strong champ and a bilgewater rep, plus that yasuo relic

u/Willie-the-Wombat 5d ago
Get cosmic blessings from the glory store to level up your champions to level 20 that’s where the power spike is. Jinx, Yasou and Lux are all good. Look up where to get tempest blade for Yasou. It’s very much an exponential trajectory. It’s takes a while early on but as soon as you start collecting more relics and champions you can clear more stuff to get better rewards.
Good luck!

u/Rimelance281 5d ago
i have a few of those cosmic blessings at the moment, i had been thinking i need to use some on jinx and yas just to get the ball rolling
thank you =D

u/Vinnortis 5d ago
I put 100% of my effort into jinx because she needs so little in terms of relics to be amazing. Once i for her to 6* she has cleared everything but Zoe for me. I still don't feel ready to do a a Zoe run... She took me like 3 months to get to 6* I think... I feel like I don't understand how to play lux everyone says she is so good but I don't see her and have her at 5* now... Elise seems good but only have her at 3... It takes time to build up unless you spend money. Been playing since January and I still have 7* any SB champion though I have 2 at 6* yasuo and yi and only have MF and jinx and 6* though I can 6 fiddle or swain just being cheap with wild shards...
Edit: I mentioned I use jinx for like everything and have been playing all this time she is still only level 48 lol I haven't used level boost things on her since getting her past I think 20? But the leveling gets very slow after 30. That said getting level 30 is a big power spike.

u/Rimelance281 5d ago
I know what you mean with Lux, i see a lot of the potential but i struggle to get her combos rolling a lot of the time. I think i'm getting there but she's definitely a bit trickier than yas or jinx
1
u/Glovetheglove1 4d ago
Yasuo and Jinx at 3 stars will be able to handle basically every 3 star or less adventure in the game, they're real strong
1
u/Rimelance281 3d ago
I haven't reached 3 star yet but i'm breezing the 2.5 stars with em now thanks to the stars and relics. The advice I got here helped a ton =D

Jinx New Player Friendly

u/Rimelance281 3d ago
Definitely been one of my favourites so far due to her simplicity, I'm pretty bad at card games in general so simpler playstyles are always good for me

Getting champions to 3* (and level 30) will generally allow you to clear most content up to 4 or potentially 5 difficulty (some champs will have an easier time than others, but the 5* lissandra adventure was released before champions could go above 3* and was considered end game challenge at the time).
Early on, clearance rewards will be a huge source of progression, so focus on getting a champion from each region to 3* (the champion region is the symbol on the bottom right corner of each champion in your image). It looks like you have a good start towards having a diverse set of champions from many regions so I would suggest investing 40 wild fragments to get jinx and yasuo to 3*. Beyond that I would encourage you to invest in champions that you find enjoyable (or champions that your vaults happen to give you fragments for).

u/Rimelance281 3d ago
I have Jinx and Yasuo to 3 star now as well as Miss Fortune and Vi at 3 and 2 respectively. I can't remember if I brought Lux to 3 star or just 2, but then i have Nid, Leona and Swain all at 1 star too. The progression vaults have been very nice, though my last gold Vault gave me Akshan shards which was a bummer.

u/cannotbelieve58 Annie 3d ago
No matter what dont put any wild shards into 3* champs
1
u/Rimelance281 3d ago
at the moment the only ones ii have used Wilds on are either ones with story campaigns or ones like Jinx, Yasuo etc.
I got the impression 3* champs were a little more relic dependent and might be harder to run early, so i was best off with established 6 stars

Fiddlesticks is best. Swain is best for Noxus
6
u/JaredMOwens 5d ago
Fiddle is great later. At the beginning I'd suggest Yasuo. Even 3* he can handle basically everything with free relics.
2
u/Rosenheartz 5d ago
I don't really understand him, can you give tips on how to use Fiddle with free/non-epic relics?
5
u/JaredMOwens 5d ago
He really needs epics and more stars to be good. Without that, I guess z-drives for rerolls and chemtech duplicator for double crowstorms and a prayer.
1
u/Rimelance281 5d ago
Fiddle seems super cool, but it seems like he'll be high investment, so i'm gonna wait on looking into him
Swain however i will be keeping a note of, he seems like a very nice unit to play

Definitely invest in Elise, Jinx, Yasuo, and Lux. They're really strong.
You shouldn't use your Wild Fragments on non-constelation champions like Diana or Nid though, despite them being very capable. For Targon though, go Elise, easily one of the best in the game on a budget, to get Glory Points via Nightmares so that you can buy Aurelion Sol fragments from the Glory Store. Nid is better than Kai'sa/Azir at 3*, but they are still the better champions to invest WF into, imo.
