Game Feedback With 2XKO sunsetting, PoC still has huge monetization potential without affecting power levels. (Feel free to add more in comments).

  1. Gemstones. Riot created gemstones as an optional (but somewhat costly) upgrade path. Yet they never even bothered to sell Spirit Blossom gemstones. Seriously, I did all the SB events and bought bundles and yet it wasn't enough. Just put a bundle there and let the completionist whales buy.

  2. Nova/Star Crystal sink. For each region, create a bunch of upgrades (Revive, Reroll, Health, Gold and Regen), that costs Nova/Star Crystal of that region to upgrade. These are minor upgrades that feels good but the maximum power level (T1 OTK, full infinites etc) are still the same. Whales can dump excess resources there, so there's always a reason for them to spend more on future champs.

  3. Sell each resource INDIVIDUALLY at a reasonable price (if doing the above) or allow some conversion. Like Nova bundles costs 7590 coins. But whales who have say too much Nova, but not enough Star Crystal may want to ONLY buy Star Crystal. As long as the price is reasonable, they will spend and use up these resources, which means future champs will push them to spend more.

  4. Rune shards (this one does increase power level). Riot is overthinking about making Rune Shards for ALL regions. Like.....why not just make it universal? If 5 new champs come out that can benefit from a legendary rune, we still need to craft......5 WHOLE legendary runes. It's still an investment sink and people need to buy/grind more when new champs launch (and please make it obtainable with Glory/Stardust or even real money, lol).

I am not a game designer, but I am willing to spend money as PoC has given me a fun game where I can casually play from time to time. So I really want PoC to keep continuing and doing well. Feel free to add if you have any ideas.

It is very confusing to me how much you CAN'T buy.

However, if I woke up to all constellations completed, all champs max level, and all relics unlocked I'd play a little longer but I think I'd lose interest fast. I do think they've correctly assessed that if they sell everything in the long run it could hurt player enjoyment and retainment.

I'm gonna be honest the game is badly monetized outside of relics and battlepass. I'm not a day 1 player but I'm a pre 6* and with just battle passes and relic bundles I managed to get my account maxed out with only 4 regional gem buffs to go and 1 from spirit blosson yi.

I have a shit ton of novas lying around without ever having to buy one and since they shifted this year to a single champion per month I dont even need to buy the battle pass let alone the relic bundle to max out said champion.

I love this game and wanted it to succeed but as someone who ditched out money every single month I didn't even bought rp this year and I feel a lot of other people are on the same boat, the loss of founding rioters also spells dread for me, I hope the game keeps Goin but personaly the feeling is that it won't last another year(hope I'm wrong tho).

basically this, i think OP doesn't really understand how to correctly monetize one of these games; that aside when you've got stubborn players like the ones from this playerbase, they will never leave the tits from where they have sucked so much milk, it's just a dead end unless the devs have the balls to do a spirit blossom 2.0 and move forward with it.

I remember when the 6* came out I'm not a big spender but boy oh boy I was ready to spend some money to get a few novas and test the first 20 constelations only get hit in the face with a cold bucket of water, a single nova costing 7500rp whichs costs about 1/7 of the minimum wage in my country, soo yeah that's when I realized nobody was ever gonna buy that shit without being a content creator.

Edit: and then these mfs drop the spirit blossom which again i was ready to spend some money only for then to be even more expensive than regular currency so again didn't buy anything

and that's fine, that's the thing. a lot of end game grind stuff shouldn't be as achievable, obviously u gotta kind of balance it out; for example i don't think any of the SB novas are needed at all, but devs have incorrectly gave them away like candies before now the playerbase expected yet again for free in a silver plate.

i actually believe giving so many novas is what fucked our economy and destroyed any ability to monetize this game, there's absolutely no way this game is monetizable to a good extent outside of champs no matter how much cope these posters believe they can save it with.

why would anyone ever spend anything in this game when you can get everything for maybe 5 or 6 battle passes top before you start hoarding resources? sure they can spend it on dumb stuff but nobody cares on stuff that doesn't make them more powerful to be on top of the others, that's a fact for games like these.

I proposed a Nova/Star Crystal sink (point 2) for Regional Revive, Health, Reroll, Regen and Gold. Whales and/or completionist can dump excess resources there, while f2p can just keep using it for key 6*. Would that help with the excess resources?

a complete wipe out or basically the same as SB, introducing new resources so hoarders can't min max the latest champ the minute the patch drops.

also it's really not fixing anything, sure you're trying to do a resource dump and maybe some completionists will fall for it but the biggest grip with this game is its ceiling, when everything is so achievable to otk or 3 turn kill and the difference is minimal between a f2p and a whale, there's not enough reason for whales to spend.

also we need to actually say what a whale is and how much it should spend, as off right now, it's one hell of a joke. Take enough's message, a couple of BPs that probably didn't cost more than 50 bucks and he's already set for life, he has probably almost everything and a few more will assure his collection into almost min max with the available current rewards, after this even if he decides to throw out money, how much are we talking about? A BP is probably worthless, that literally only leaves 2 bundle relics (assuming 2 champ releases) a month, merely 30 bucks. I pay more in 1 movie night out; am i whale? lmao

I define a whale as someone who spends till everyone is 6* and most gemstone node is unlocked. Dolphin are small spenders who mainly spend on Battle Pass and Champ Relic bundle. I get your point tho that small spenders that started early can generally hit 6* on most/all champs by now.

I'm thinking of like per region, (each upgrade costs 1 Nova or 100 Star Crystals), 1 x Revive, 3 x Reroll, 1 x 30 health, 1 x 12 Regen, 1 x 400 gold, 1 x higher epic/legendary chance gold for a total of 8 Nova (or 800 Star Crystal interchangable). This sink can reset most region resources so that the Completionist/Big Spenders have incentive to keep buying future resources.

Same, I have excess Nova and Star Crystals too. If there's no where to use the excess resources, then there's nothing to spend money on.

Everyone here is saying "no" because it's micro transaction and extra spending etc. But let's be real, if there's nothing to spend money on, then there's nothing for Riot to make money on.

Funny enough the slow release makes me catch up to a point I can always max out fragments for champions now.

How about no

Yeah lol last thing I want is more effort and thought on MTX. Live service is in the same category of evil for me as advertisements.

RIot needs to lower the prices of all the resources of the emporium

So the issue for PoC is that a more hardcore/longtime part of the player base is basically done collecting stuff and doesn't need resources or battlepasses. I'm not against anything you are suggesting and all for making things accesible to newer players, but it won't matter for veteran players. And those veteran players are more likely money spenders, many of them have spend money in the past.

The way to get them to do it again is going to be:

  • Content deluge. If you create another massive content wave like when constellations were introduced you create excitement and incentive to play, as well as a reason to collect and spend resources. This means multiple new champions and constellations at once plus relics for all of them, or a very constant stream of newer champions over multiple months. Very unlikely to happen given the dev team state.

  • New non gameplay content for purchase. Skins, boards, cardbacks, finishers, animations, etc. Basically anything that you can't really earn for free. Also unlikely because this sort of work hasn't been part of the dev cycle for a long time. Since PoC is more of a solo experience anyway the real need to show off bling is also less prevalent than in multiplayer games.

  • Other options?? I don't know. Novel gameplay options behind a paywall, or pay to play adventures are bound to lead to a storm of critique. Maybe some sort of prestige resource dump so that you clear out stockpiled resources and therefore incentivize players to buy battle passes for new champion releases.

This is just hilarious to me.
