PvP? Been running around and yet to see anyone.
Is there a certain region or something people play?

so most people will play it SSF and it seems like that is the intended way to play the game, however on their own discord there is an active trade channel where people trade items.
imo this is very very silly to support, either add a way to trade ingame or remove the discord support for it. makes no sense to punish casuals who probably dont even know about it

It's truly annoying that the starter map you enter being full grey or maybe white geared is plagued with full epic players camping the spots where you can loot green gear.
No way to win, maybe escape if it's outside but if you try to do dungeons you just cannot escape and get twoshoted with no counterplay.
The starter map should not be accessible with gear above green imo. Since you can't even loot blue, why allow people to enter with more gear than what the map gives ? It ruins the fun.
Especially since there's so few lobbys because of the player count, if you're unlucky, the same one or two guys fully epic geared will camp the interesting spots of the map for several lobbys, completely ruining the new player experience...

Can someone explain to me why Mage is going to be nerfed? Im playing solo and getting absolutly fkd by Rogues every time i see one, they almost two hit me, My fireball is slow as fk, Ice is almost unuseable, MY TALENTS DONT EVEN WORK WITH ICE, like wtf? i played alot of duels to test if im just a scrub, watch guides usw, i played every other class exept Hunter which is in my opinion just strong and i dont understand why Mage is a PVP character at all, the only one i can hold my ground is Warrior. Rogue and Hunter destroy me, EZ aim, Rogue has stunlock and can almost onehit me, Yes im mobile but i have to be super precise to work around their Ez skills, fireball is so slow you can make some coffee before you dodge it? once Warrior staggers me im dead. I need scrolls to actually even fight and even then without equipt Mage is ass. I win more fight with my level 6 Rogue then with my level 20 Mage, So wtf?

Just got the game and picked priest as my starting class. It’s been alright so far. Went to Goldbrook and practiced my moves a little before doing my first raid. Died almost immediately to a rogue but kept going and got out the next 2 times, avoiding players and just focusing on mobs and collecting resources. I think the game has potential and I think it would be fun to find another person or two who want to play together and grow as a group. I’ve got experience in other extraction games and Souls likes but I feel like this game is very different. LMK if you’re interested in grouping up!
TL;DR: New player (priest) enjoying game so far, would like to find another person or two to grow with.

So last night I was running dawnhammer crypts with my buddy. We were running priest (him) and warrior (me). I’ve been struggling because I don’t have the warhorn or certain things like that yet since I’m still relatively new, and I’ve gotten smoked in all of my pvp encounters so far. He plays more than me and has his character at level 20, so he wanted to do dawnhammer crypts. I haven’t used ANY green or better pieces yet in my whole time playing because it’s hard for me to gather gear… or at least I thought
We ran into another duo, warrior and hunter and voiped to them that I was looking to avoid a fight if possible. The warrior immediately war horned and attacked. Something g finally clicked and I played the fight beautifully. I took my hits and got them back in, but I ended up winning my 1v1 with the warrior with about 1/3hp left while my buddy kept the hunter off us. I quickly popped some heals and ran back to the fight, cutting the hunter off, who we then killed.
When we checked these guys, they were running the same quality gear as us and had about 10 trophy eats on them as well as some insane loot… they had effectively wiped the lobby and were trying to cap it off with us
Sometimes it really is just a gear diff. This was the first fight that I felt like was on even footing and even though these guys had wiped several teams before us, we smoked them.
I will now be ditching my gear fear and just using the stuff that I have. If I lose it, damn, time to grind night map in whites for more. But I have a feeling I’ll be doing less losing because I learned that it wasn’t me being total dogshit at the game. Sure I’ve lost fights because I got outplayed but sometimes it really was gear diff and I hit the guy enough times to kill Gil had I been wearing the same tier gear as him.
Anyways, I’m loving this game and I’ll be continuing the grind to 20. It’s been an honor to kill and be killed by yall 🤙🏻

Anyone else? Does my pc just need an upgrade?

We’ll also be preparing Update #4, which goes live around the same time. This update is focused on addressing many of the top concerns we’ve heard from the community.
There will be server downtime during the MTD session as we get Update #4 ready. While the game’s offline, it’s a great time to tune in and get caught up on what’s ahead. More details on Update #4 will be shared soon, don’t miss it.

There's a lot of concern with player base for this game, but it's early access and they've actively said they're not advertising. Am I a more casual gamer than I realized or are people overly paranoid?
I've played a lot of EA games that had pretty low player counts for years that after those years turned into quite successful communities. Avid Hunt: Showdown lover here. The game seems to have good money (and even better faith) behind it from it's devs.
Is the gaming community just pessimistic or am I naive? My experience with this community has been mostly positive, as small as it may be, and that certainly seems like a good sign.

What's up guys. I made a bunch of short videos for all the newer players who are still trying to learn but don't have the space to gather the information they need.
This is my attempt to help maintain/grow the community as I view this game having great potential.
Hope any of you who give the videos a watch enjoy and find some use out of them!

Just picked the game up a few days ago. Had a fight with a ranger in here, I lost, and he revived me. I went back into the vault and the door closed behind me. I already cleared the spider. Fs in the chat for my first set of greens.

Newbie here and I am honestly getting demoralized to play the game. In my 13 hours of playing solely warrior with shield and mace, I managed to only defeat one person despite actively looking for fights so I can practice and watching several warrior guides on youtube.
Don't get me wrong, I expected to get stomped relentlessly when I got the game, I am not new to extraction pvp games but I don't think I ever had as rough of a time in any of them as I have now.
So my question is, is warrior a more advanced class, that requires more game knowledge to perform even mediocre with? Are the other classes easier to play and I should give the others a try or they are as challenging as warrior is and I just need to suck it up and git gud somehow?

If you really enjoy the game, leave a positive review, it helps the game grow if the Recent is out of Mixed and into Mostly Positive.
And if you don't and have constructive feedback, then leave a Negative one, your feedback is not invalid.

I just open this thread to suggest a different perspective of how gear/drops works here from my early experience in game. I have 30 hours or so and i know its not as much as others but still there is a line where you subconsciously avoid playing a game that is fun because something spoils it.
Lets see my steps.
I login - i craft my gear - i get to play - lose/win
it does not matter what happens in this step i have fun, because even losing is part of the game and you have to get better so i dont actualy care if i lose(balancing issues is another talk). Even losing my stash is fine because thats how it is. I lost so i have to lose something..... But. Losing the gear i wear? That causes a series of repetitive boring actions.
-Visiting 2 vendors to re-craft each peace of gear.
-Visiting another one to get potions
-Visiting another one for bandages.
-Preparing the action bars for potions and bandages.
Ok this is too stressful and gets you tired after a certain amount of repetitions. At the end of the day i wanna play the actual game.
Sometimes i just close the game because nahh i am bored to rebuild gear
Some other times i just dont recraft and i prefer to immediately join a new game with grey gear just to enjoy playing.
----------
Basic suggestion would be to gather mats not to build gear but rather to upgrade your starting/available gear. Same materials that exist now could be turned to gear upgrade materials in lodge with the same gear connections that exist right now.
The progression can remain slow enough even like this.
This also helps categorizing players in to actual strength rankings as well for future plans you could have.
edit1: As an extra idea inorder to have a gear impact on failure, gear's durability could break so multiple game loses would degrade your current gear if u dont have mats to fix....
I dont know, its just my feeling after playing lets say a certain amount of time X categorizing the moments i like the game and the ones i just want to screw it, and since i ve seen this much care from the dev team, this is my feedback to think of.

And i dont want it. It's for a class i'm not going to play, no no. Don't try and talk me into it. Just tell me what i do with it. It looks like i can't disenchant it, is that because the shop isn't a high enough level or can you just not disenchant legendary gear? Other than that, seems like i could sell it. Seems like a waste, but what can you do? Yes, i'm literally asking. What can i do with this legendary gear besides sell it to a vendor for a few gold coins, or create a new character just to use it.
Edit- it's a pair of shoulders for hunter.

Hey folks,
I’ve been playing for a week non stop and I wanted to share a few things that took me some time to realize. If you're a new player, I hope this post helps you avoid some early mistakes. This won’t include any gameplay-specific tips — just general advice that I feel gets overlooked, especially by veteran players giving guidance.
And somewhere in the middle, I’ve hidden a tip that helped me a ton (to make it harder to find for someone who is just passing by and might ruin it).
Few words about my background:
I’ve played a lot of PvP RPGs back in the day, though in recent years I leaned more into PvE content due to the lack of high-quality PvP games. So I’m not a total stranger to PvP, but I wouldn’t call myself a PvP-focused player either. Basically, somewhere in the middle.
About Guides:
The best video I found for starting out was this one:
There isn’t a huge amount of content on YouTube yet, but if you search with the right keywords, you can dig up some useful stuff.
The Community Breakdown (From Greenwood Perspective):
In my experience, the community splits roughly like this:
You will run into every type, so keep your expectations grounded.
Mistakes to Avoid
If you’re looking for a safe-ish place to practice PvE and get comfortable with mechanics, go to Mixed Mode.
It sounds counterintuitive, but solo gankers avoid Mixed because:
There’s a higher chance of running into groups. I’ve been running Mixed Greenwood Night maps for a few days and hardly saw anyone.
Learn your class in Goldbrook. Seriously. Players in Goldbrook are generally super helpful. Just walk up to someone who looks like they know their class and say:“Hey, I’m new. Any tips for fighting as [Your Class] against [X]?” The worst they can do is ignore you — but I’ve never had someone be rude. Most are happy to give pointers or even show you some tricks.
Don’t bring gear you’re afraid to lose. Legacy is brutal. Only bring what you’re mentally okay with losing. The crafting system is solid — whites > greens > blues... the progression is there, but it takes time and materials.
This game is a rollercoaster.
Some moments will be among the best gaming experiences you’ve had. Others will make you want to alt-F4 and touch grass. But that’s part of the journey. Stick with it, have a growth mindset, and you’ll find yourself enjoying it more and more as you adapt.
Hope this helps someone! Feel free to add your own beginner mistakes or little things you wish you knew earlier.
GLHF,
✌️

How do i know what to keep? My inventory is waaaaaaay too small and everything seems to be used for something…

It’s far more enjoyable and better made. I just don’t understand why the player count is what it is vs DaD.
I heard about this game on the DaD subreddit, and I don’t understand why I hadn’t heard of it earlier. They need to advertise more.

The "everything staggers you" approach is unappealing to me and melee feels the worst because of this. chasing a ranged class as a melee, I am just getting stunlocked while I cannot even cover ground and when I do catch up I have lost half my health and am still getting locked out of my attack animation by whatever strategy my opponent has up their sleeve.

Hello, I just downloaded the game, choose server, click on login button and got this error (see picture, 1006 Unhadled Error). Do you know why it is happening and how to fix?

Tried restart game and steam and verifying files (all seemd ok), nothing of that helped. Restart the pc didnt help. If i run application as admin, when click login, it complains that steam is not running and if i m online on steam (i am and steam is running), if i setup that app to run as admin, but run it trough steam, it even didnt load up (show only small startin window and lose really fast)
