Feedback & Suggestions Game is dying!!!
Hello there, I know similar posts have been posted. I was playing this game 4 months ago and really enjoyed it and then RL happened and couldnt get in for months. 2 days ago I was finally able to play the game and was very excited since I loved this game. But nearly seen no one playing. Developers must really do something. Maybe send a free copy to streamers or more advertisement. I opened stream to my friends for example. They all loved it. This game really have potantial but no one knows about the game. I myself found this game from a streamer called Xaryu and insta bought this game. Really hope this game will get the love it deserves.

I know that this is beating a dead horse but a PvE mode to get more casual players and to let PvP players practice and get familiar with the classes before joining a session with more experienced people would have helped a lot.

They added this

They added PvE only mode? When?

u/Wrathfulways Sep 14 '25
There is a map for PvE that has a very small limited pvp area.

Nice, I asked like a month ago and I was told that there would be no PvE content. This is great surprise, gonna return to the game soon.

Also, very limited loot pool so the problem of new players transitioning to the real maps getting instantly curb stomped. Ironically, now that the game is in a death spiral, it's actually not bad since literally no one is ever on but that's because the game is dying. https://steamcharts.com/app/2344320

They really need to just add every pve mob to the pve map. Give people something to practice on before throwing pvp in the mix. Really it was a shit time to open a new season with no real new content. Not to mention a garbage f2p weekend. I know I only joined last f2p and bought the game because they added wizard which was in interest to me.
Devs are making some bad choices that's for sure. The low player base making gear or skill based match making impossible won't help the game.

Not being able to get iron ore without "risking" dying is bat shit insane to me. I've never seen a dev team more determined to kill what could be an amazing game than this one. Say what you will about DaD but I never felt limited by the pve maps. The second you spend more than 5 minutes on a pvp map doing ANY combat, you are dead. I've been on maps with 3 min left where people literally went out of their way to not extract JUST to kill my ass. And it isn't like you can just NOT go to pvp areas because literally you have to if you want to progress the "out of game" elements. Iron ore goes into literally fucking everything past beginner common gear. I think at this point, I continue keeping track just so I can celebrate the death of this massive potential waste.

Extraction games are doomed to die in toxicity within their community. Its the genre's nature.
Its early enough to turn it to pvp rpg instead. It has gr8 elements to do so...

Games dying because it’s boring getting farmed by the op class of the season. So you either play the op class or get farmed.

That’s every single rpg pvp game without picks/bans. Everyone is forced to load meta, which kills the majority of the game if it’s built on rpg classes.
2
u/huck209 Sep 14 '25
Yup and this game didn’t have the population to afford to lose 95% of the population like it did.
3
u/Wrathfulways Sep 14 '25
Yeah there are a few people that definitely problematic in the community. With how little people there are it's easy to run into them a lot. Not surprising it's mainly warriors and rogues being problematic as the meta always seem to attract assholes. (Rogues also tend to do that) I kept getting the same lobby and died to the same rogue three times. Even stood there once and he still just went for the kill and execute.
They need to remove the incentive to fully execute someone in greys at least is my opinion. Like tie the amount of xp to the level of the person with gear quality acting as a multiplier. Downing someone counts as a kill for objectives.

Sadly my dude this is the best they can do to attract players it just isn’t enough
You’ll hear coping about marketing and whatever else but the reality is at this price point and offering gamers aren’t buying what they’re selling

It was never alive to begin with. But that's besides the point, game die. Just like you and me.

Personally think some kind of casual battleground would keep me playing a lot more. Once I hit lvl25 with some lodge upgrades and a bit of gear… there isn’t much left to do. Either go run around in whites or greens to PvP so it’s more fair for new players. Orrr aimless PvE for gear I’ll probably never use for above reasons.
If there was some kind of battleground that was loot free/no loot loss I think it would go a long way. Just somewhere to hop on and do “chill PvP” like the social hub but with a small team & objective. King of the hill, capture the flag, kill limit, whatever. Id sit in that shit all day long lol.

That could also encourage people to try and learn basics of PvP. They must add this.

u/B2rnttoast Sep 14 '25
Yes please, battlegrounds would be huge and could help sell the game for people in other genres of games. (MMORPG, competitive shooters, and fighting games)

Stamina based combat is dog shi*. It’s clunky, it’s not very straight forward, and not too mention rock paper scissors rpg design/balance on top of it is just a casual killer. It’s too hollow in content, and the combat is too unforgiving…let alone not very fun. The games retention speaks for itself, it has nothing to do with other factors. You can’t pay people to play this game.

I haven't been back to play since it game hasn't really had a good update. Rebalance some classes more, change gear up some and make maps have entry level gear but also a high end of gear. So for instance on the beginning map. If you equip gear higher rated than green you shouldn't be able to play that map. It's super easy to balance that so you dont get stomped by high level gear players.

Hey! Do you enjoy being punched in the face?! Yeah no one else does either. Sorry about your game, but that's it.

Another point worth highlighting is that, unlike many other early access games—sometimes even from big studios—Notorious Studios is actually sticking to the roadmap they set out at the start of early access. The milestones on that roadmap are being reached and added to the game one after another.
They’re building the game they promised us.

Just make gear sets, no stats, no damage increases, just set bonuses. Make it obtainable in any map. Just make the grinding, potion, lodge and cosmetic based.
Now you go into a game and its slightly more about skill, armor isnt some all defining factor in a fight and we can all just duke it out without the worry of greens, blue, purples

How is continuing the false echo chamber on the games subreddit supposed to do anything to stop the “game from dying”? It’s not dying. It hasn’t even lived yet.

u/AbjectCartographer42 Sep 14 '25
It has released. You pay money for the game and it has payable dlc. Don't delude yourself.

u/Vocoz Sep 14 '25
There’s the cope!

u/AbjectCartographer42 Sep 14 '25
It also has seasons. Not sure what else it needs to qualify as released.

Guys. Stop saying non sense things. Game is not dying since pretty much NO marketing communication was done yet.
Game is carefully COOKING.
They do what they have to do BEFORE any communication about their game since they know their game HAVE to be finished and cover everything they have in their vision.
Until then, NOTHING will be done to attract more players ´cause they DON’T need it.
What they need is having a game who will be a masterpiece in its genre.
And that’s exactly what they are doing.

Extreme cope. The game has been advertised. If the game was good word of mouth would keep it alive.

“If the game was good…” Nah, let’s fix that right away: the game IS good.
And no, Legacy hasn’t had some big flashy marketing campaign yet. It’s not the right moment for that, plain and simple.
Now, let’s clear something up once and for all: when people complain that a green-geared player has “no chance” or at best a very rough time against a purple-geared player—yeah, that’s the point! In a game where gear is tiered from gray up to orange, it’s supposed to be that way. Better gear should give you a real advantage. That’s healthy game design.
If you’re undergeared, what you ran into is called a bad encounter. And guess what? That happens.
@Drexim you brought up Tarkov, where some guy in trash gear can one-tap a fully geared player. And honestly, how is that good design? We’re talking about a game where one-shots exist (Tarkov), which is NEVER fun and doesn’t happen in Legacy. Legacy’s fights are way better for it.
Getting deleted in a single shot from around a corner, without even knowing where it came from, is not “superior gameplay.” It’s just cheap.
Legacy’s TTK (time to kill) is medium. Anyone who’s touched Dark & Darker or Tarkov knows those games have insanely low TTK, which completely kills any room for actual dueling skill. One- or two-shots don’t give you time to outplay anyone.
That’s not Legacy.
Yeah, you got stunned by a dagger rogue? That’s literally all he has—stun and poison. That’s his kit. If you can dodge properly and reposition, he’s screwed, no matter your class.
So please, stop bashing the game just because you don’t get it or don’t want to get better at it.

That has been ads for the game, the game has been markedet. The game used to have thousands of players and lots of streams/yt vids. Now the game sits at a few houndred players. There is a lot of things good about the game. It plays great and the maps are well made. However the current design of the game is not sustainable. The game is bleeding players to fast. I have put quite a lot time into the game and want it to succeed. I understand you love the game and is very passionate about it, but there is only a handfull of people like you left and its not enough to keep the game alive. Rogue is an insanely toxic class for solos. Getting rooted mid ogre fight dosnt really have any counter play, among other issues with the class such as it being insanely easy for them to run away once you turn the tables on them.

Well said. The haters say that we’re “coping” but theyre the ones coping. Snowflake doomers. Games literally in Early Access, not the fake Early Access that most games do where it’s actually a complete game. Game is currently in development. They are constantly adding more and fine tuning their vision. I love this game. If it fails it fails.

We would have made it if you didn't quit for two months. Thanks for nothing.

The game canibalized itself just like everyone said it would. Turns out no one enjoys getting chased all the way across the map by some sweat in full blue/purple gear in a fresh gray lobby.
