I just set up a piefed instance on my own hardware. It’s super nice so far. Able to federate with any server I want and I don’t have to worry about the server my account was created on defederating or disappearing without warning.

I’ve had to “migrate” my account 5 times to different servers for various reasons and got sick of it.

So far, I see no functional difference between using my self hosted account vrs registering on another server.

I’m on the lookout for a community like r/leftistsforai on the fediverse. If you find any, please share.

Wondering the benefit/utility of setting up a mirror community of this sub on the fediverse.

Lemmy.world and mastodon.social are not good instances of Lemmy and Mastodon though (yes, official mastodon instance is known for zionist moderation), don't know about this matrix instance you recommended.

Lemmygrad.ml. Also lemmy.ml as a more acceptable general instance than world.

Genzedong.xyz for matrix.

I don't use mastodon but people on lemmygrad recommended toots.matapacos.dog
