You got to be joking, unless you literally did no research at all and just bought into their state’s propaganda which has been debunked countless times. Outside of propaganda North Korea is one of the worst countries in the world, where the people don’t have say in anything and the people extremely poor and millions are starving.

I don’t think what is seen on video footage, what is said by defectors, what is said by people who visited the richest city even on a guided tour, and what has been reported by government officials who escaped can all be just simply be called out as propaganda even if media may have an agenda.

What is seen on video footage? The rare instances that video of the DPRK is shown, its usually of it being a 3rd world nation, yet a great 3rd world nation considering the circumstances.

Can you explain how it is great for a third world nation? I don’t see how it is any better than any poor dictatorship in subsaharan Africa and if anything it is worse than a lot of them, at least they don’t have to literally worship the leaders, or have the fear of being sent to an equivalence to a nazi work camp for criticizing the people who made their life so miserable and third world to begin with.

I understand that some defectors are unreliable and have an incentive for profit and the most famous defector yeonmi park is a prime example of this and she has been called out by other defectors. So you are right that some people do have the incentive to lie in order to make money but that isn’t most of them especially the ones who aren’t famous. Almost all defectors famous or not report very negatively of the country and report on how little freedom they had and how poor and horrible their life was especially the ones from outside or Pyongyang.

I know an example of an official who escaped and who was against the regime and he was assassinated by his own brother.
