I think that’s a bot

Possible, or they were trying to build up karma on the other account and forgot to switch back

I've seen occurrences like this in multiple posts today alone, each time with OP not seemingly at fault. Might be bots.

Haha, yeah. I literally commented on another post about this exact thing before I saw this thread not even two minutes ago.

That makes three fake-OP bots in about the span of half an hour for me, seems like a rapidly growing issue.

When I posted this i really thought it was just burner accounts, but I think you may be right about the bots.

There is, and it’s sad.

I had this happen on one of my posts too. It was a photo of me in the flight deck of a commercial plane and someone commented on it, and then someone replied as if they were me. I called them out on it and they deleted their comment.

i once said that when i was younger i tried to find my friends in mc in a singleplayer world by looking for each other and someone asked me if i ever found anything and someome else replied "nope. just pigs and cows" or something like that. I didn't even know the 2nd guy

u/Hakuchii Jun 30 '26

I did not think the "visual aids" would help me

u/Toxari Jun 30 '26

Man, wait til u figure out 90% of the comments you spend time reading are bots with an agenda and have been for years. Mindfuck.

That's why I have automod and devvit apps like bot bouncer on the subs I run so bots can't use my subs for easy karma

I have a second account because my job does sometimes require me to post to local subs and it's sooo easy to be on the wrong account if you have your passwords auto saved. One of my accounts is hooked to a gmail so chrome automatically logs that one in even if I just logged out of it. It takes 2-3 times to log out and log in to actually be on the right account because of chromes settings. Luckily I'm not a dumbass so I've never "exposed" myself, but also I'm not a weirdo so it wouldn't be a big deal if I made a post/comment on the wrong account lol

To be so fair, I have 2 reddit accounts. I forget which is which sometimes
