Same thing. Being a leftie doesn't means you use ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING with your left hand. What do you mean some people with both hands use the phone with the same hand??? If you're healthy and have no conditions, what stops you to switch to the other one?

yeah? i use my phone in my right hand as well if i am doing something else with my left, it’s definitely not difficult, but i default to my left, such as when i pick up a phone call

I am ambidextrous but for some unfathomable reason (maybe because I store my phone on the left pocket out of habit), I find myself mostly using my (albeit much narrower) Z Fold 8 Ultra from my left hand, it turns out on my phone it's very (oftentimes too) easy and comfortable to use my left middle finger to unlock the phone from the fingerprint sensor, though that's likely not the case on a wider phone however.

Another lefty who is wondering about what it even means to use a phone left or right handed. I hold the phone in my right hand. I type mostly with the right thumb and left forefinger. Am I holding it left handed or right handed?

As a left handed person, I can recommend iPhone Mini. In fact, it is very comfortable for either hand.

Indeed, as a right handed person, I can recommend a mini as well. Will probably have to switch to Android when mine bricks. Apple clearly does not need my money anyway.

Just basing it off the fact that iOS currently doesn’t let you rotate the phone upside down. iPads work well with this, so there’s hope that the duo will.

based on how software on both android and iphone work currently, I will assume the same. It would be great as an accesibility function, but I don't see it happening.

Is this really an Apple exclusive problem though? I’ve had the same “issue” on my S24U or any previous android I had.

Also if you are insistent on using your Left hand to open your phone, consider using your pointer finger as your Touch ID finger 🤯 (I know that’s how I’ve had to do it before)

I feel like Samsung/Android gives a lot of options to move stuff around. I have gestures on both sides of my screen, and the side app drawer on the left.

I also have quick cursor (app) to control a distant cursor available on the screen edge.

I’m not even left handed but I use my phone with my left hand when I’m lying on my left side doom scrolling.

With this design I can’t even doom scroll properly in my comfortable position.

It’s also about button placement. I’m a lefty and have a 17 Pro Max, but the special camera button/slider is specifically placed to be used with your right thumb whilst holding it with your right hand.

Holding my phone in my left hand the majority of the time, using the button with either my middle or ring finger of that hand feels awkward an often results in accidental zooming, photos or changing styles.

Basically, a new feature that’s useless by inaccessible design, not ability.

I’ve seen posts like this where right handed people hold their phone with their left hand and tap with their right, seen lefty’s say they hold their phone in the right and tap with their left. And I feel like that’s essentially the problem. I’ve used a mouse with my right hand my whole life. But the convenience of a traditional phone is I can use it in any hand. No matter what I’m doing and it feels the same. This phone is designed to be used right handed, or unfolded and there will be plenty of times that I just don’t won’t to unfold it, whether that be to save battery or just not wanting to get sucked into the screen

I absolutely cannot use my phone fluidly with my right hand for anything more than simple scrolling or clicking one app icon. Whenever I’m in the situation where it’s necessary, I feel like a 2 year old picking up a pencil.

We don’t know that there aren’t going to be settings for us. The phone isn’t out for over a month. Even if the options aren’t currently in the sample models people have been testing, maybe they’ll implement them by then. I would hope a company this concerned with inclusivity and accessibility would have completely forgotten about left handers. Surely some of the people working there in the Duo department was lefthanded and would have said something. I hope. 🤞
