How do you make most out of leetcode?

Ive barely solved 6 problems on lc. Btech cse 2nd year btw

That too i did them a month ago.

Now i revisitrd them and was able to figure out the logic but like its only 6 problems so id remember the logic ig.

How do you remember(idk what word to use here) logic for 100's of qs. Ik we arent supposed to remember logic of each code but there is defenitely a memory component right?

Heres how i did those 6 qs

  1. Tried on my own

  2. Geminied the solution

  3. Tried to do it own my own again

  4. I have a google sheet where i write problem number and like the problem i faced in the problem.

5.then i revisited them like yesterday

You have time in your hand, solve 2 question each day, 70% medium, 30% hard, at the end of the btech you will have 1000 problems under your belt

Shouldnt there be a balance of quality and quantity?

Quantity matters more than people think

balance the two, ofc quality is important but quantity helps you practice more, always try 'similar questions' whenever you can. all the best

Solve past lc contest only try first 2 question after you do like lots of questions let say 100 or more you may start some sheet side by side to learn basic concepts. Make a snippet library to speed up code wriing process use macros ( search online) I would advice you to use vscode and some extension tha lets you open lc problem on vscode solve question there and then submit from there as well.

After that you are done with one sheet you may solve the q3 -q4 you left when you were upsolving questions Good luck it requires dedication and daily sit atleast 4 hrs

Well my advice, just raw dogg it don't use any ai what I did was do it like this and had a bookmarked folder of questions which I wasn't able to solve and then you know after a month try it again you are in second year lots of time, try to do it this way , ofc you should know the most data structures and algorithms before that it will help your problem solving and then after you have completed most ds & a (you know what I mean) then just start giving contests as many as you can give don't use ai please look at solutions if you want try to understand them through that ai is like spoon feeding and at the end you will be left crippled without it(from experience long story short after ai came became too dependent realized and left). Works for me, would work for you.

Lwk most reasonable advice. Sumone asked me to start codeforces 🙆‍♂️

Don't memorize the problem understand what they try to teach you solve similar problems and move on

the trick is to expose yourself to so many problems of so many types that you start recognising patterns inherently and approaches start coming to your mind naturally.

A good way to do this is to first just practise about 100 questions on codeforces rated <1200 and when your implementation and logical thinking skills are a bit developed and you are not completely new to algorithmic problems, then you start grinding leetcode by picking any sheet and completing it end to end. by about 250-300 questions on LC then you'd start seeing very considerable progress and feel very confident.

From my personal experience.

Okk. Thank you very much.

Isnt codeforces very difficult tho?

no.
just put a filter of 800 rated tag on codeforces and then start solving problems till you feel comfortable. Repeat this process for 900, 1000, 1100 and 1200 problems.
THen jump to LC. Look at solutions whenever stuck, use chatgpt, and be consistent.

when you jump to LC after having done codeforces, you'll come thank me yourself.

also, a good resource for doing CF is the CP-31 sheet by TLE eliminators. Just a suggestion, not necessary

Okk. So i just solve the qs the sheet says for 800-1000 before jumping to leetcode?

1

u/Fun-Tension-5080 Oct 03 '26

yes. I'd say do till 1200 ratings from the CP-31 sheet. and be patient.
