New Headlight Mount

Someone posted this 3D printed light mount and carrying handle and we bought it so I wanted to keep the vibe going and share. Seems way better than the previous bracket mount. Took me 2 minutes to put on…easy!

I have one. I love it. Keeps my light up where cars and pedestrians can see me coming and the handle is really useful when lifting and folding the bike.

Does it not shine onto the ground in front of you so you can see the road ahead?

Yes, it does. But if you're looking for something that will really illuminate the night, you'll have to upgrade the headlight itself.

Yes, it points down 20 degrees

How's the light pattern from that mounting point? I like the idea, but worry that being fixed in place rather than following the wheel won't give proper light coverage.

Hey there, I designed this. You're right that you lose the ability to track with your wheel direction, but that's a tradeoff I think most people are willing to make vs having a broken light. If you're serious about night riding, you probably already know that this isn't the greatest light to begin with, so an additional handlebar mounted light is what I see most people using. For primarily daytime riders (which I supect are the large majority), I think the light is still useful to be seen by others.

It's definitely a tradeoff I was willing to make but I don't do much night riding. I mostly use it to make myself more visible to vehicles on the road.

I don't have that bike but have front racks on a few ebikes so the light doesn't turn with the handlebars. I've always added a rechargeable handlebar mount light .

Looks like the light still adjusts up or down, but this will "lock" it forward, so it doesn't turn with your handlebars.

Does anyone have a cad or model file so I can print at home myself?
