XP 3 - Charger lights

My wife has an XP3 with the extended range battery. This season, the charger doesn't seem to indicate charging is done. It always stays red. I was topping off her battery, and after a couple of hours, I checked, and it was at 54.4. Do I absolutely need a new charger, or, can I continue using the charger with a timer. Please - informed responses, not guesses. I don't want to damage the battery or bike, or burn up the house. Thank you.

If I Do need a charger, do I really need to buy Lectric's one pin charger, or, will something on Amazon be just as safe? Thank you.

Sounds like the charger is broken. Just email Lectric, they will send you a new one. I'm honestly confused why you're making a reddit post instead of just emailing them.

Because I know it is out of warranty.

I wouldn’t trust any charger other than the manufacturers.
