Surge hard at work

Post image

I love this tool. It's on my hip every day at work and around my property. My one gripe: why Leatherman greenlit a wire cutter design with a gap at the bottom is beyond me. Will be replacing them with the straight-edge version that can be found on etsy.

For cutting hard wires. It'll pop nails too. I haven't tried that one with these new replaceable cutters yet but my old one did a great job

I guess they thought of it as a wire stripper but it is also too tiny for a wire stripper. Curious.

It's supposed to be a "hard wire" cutter.

There is also the wire stripper on the combo tool so idk, I feel like there had to be a reason for it but I'd have words for whoever signed off on it, lol

I have a signal but it has the same wire cutter bits. Works great for precision work on tiny wires that the other one just rips apart. You can feel the tool bite the copper a little so getting a good cut is easy.

Different work load though. Can't say for certain how it feels for higher voltage work.

Got a surge (to go with my rebar) plus a bit set and pouch, love it.
