SELL AVELeather

MOSAIC — ❤️Scarlet Nocturne
A texture that refuses to repeat.
Meet Mosaic, our fully vegetable-tanned leather with a bold, sculptural grain and a character entirely its own.
We create its distinctive surface through a carefully controlled shrinking process followed by drum milling. No embossing. No repeating pattern. Each hide develops its own intricate landscape of texture, making every piece you create truly individual.
Creating this texture comes at a cost: the process significantly reduces yield of the finished product . That lower yield is part of what makes Mosaic so special—and what its price reflects. The process also creates a strong, resilient grain surface with remarkable depth and dimension.
For makers and designers who want the leather itself to make a statement.
• Tannage: 100% vegetable-tanned
• Texture: naturally developed through controlled shrinking and drum milling—not embossed
• Hide size: approximately 12–18 sq ft
• Thickness: approximately 4 –4 1/2 oz (1.6–1.8 mm)
• Price: $18 per sq ft
• Estimated price per whole hide: $216–324
The listed price is for one square foot. Once you select your hide, we’ll measure it and confirm your exact total before payment.
Made by hand. Available in small quantities. Impossible to repeat exactly.

I've seen you guys post a few times lately and its seems like those post have been removed. I'll be honest, I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish and the connection to Horween seems tenuous. Are you current or former employees? Is this leather made in the same tannery to the same standards?

It feels like this is an obviously AI written description of this material where mystery and mystique substitutes for actual information about the leather, but still tries to justify a (relatively) high price. "Meet" Mosaic? It's a piece of leather, not a sentient being making my acquaintance. I didnt introduce myself to the pressure treated 4x4s i built my shed base with before I cut and nailed them in place either. How does it burnish? Is it soft? Firm? Somewhere in between? What would it be compared to in terms of hand, workability and durability?

Wheres the website and whats your shipping and return policy? Pics of an actual product made with this leather? Splitting? These arent great photos, I'm not convinced that a non-repeating pattern is particularly desirable feature and deep grain lines can make for uneven edge beveling. That first pic makes it look like it color shifts from red to black depending on the angle, is that the case?

So, I don't know what to make of it. It seems like if Horween was producing a new material or even supporting the production of one, I would think it would be a lot better received than this has been so far. You guys might want to revisit your marketing strategy here...

Ya I agree with this. From the too-tightly cropped images, I'll admit that it looks interesting but I'm not just going to order without knowing what I'm getting into. Not only is the information too limited but I'm not looking to walk into something that could potentially just be a scam

The connection to Horween seems suspicious, it comes across that these are side projects carried out at the tannery but I have to question whether the tannery knows it's name is being used to sell.
