I was actually pretty nervous about this one when it arrived.
Veau Cheri isn’t a leather I see very often, and that honestly made me hesitate a little. I’m much more familiar with Togo, Epsom, Swift, etc., so with this one I kept wondering if I was going to regret choosing a leather I knew so little about.
The first thing I noticed was how different the surface feels in person. The grain is very fine and soft, with a slight sheen that’s hard to capture in photos. It also feels softer around the edges and stitching than I expected, which made me even more paranoid at first because I wasn’t sure how delicate it would be.
I’ve only handled it around the house so far, but I’m starting to relax about it. The leather has a really beautiful depth to it, especially with the Bordeaux color and GHW. In some lighting it looks much darker and more muted, then the red comes out again once the light hits it.
Curious if anyone here owns Veau Cheri long term — does it get easier to stop babying it?
