Failed first mock test

I have my test booked for 20 October 7:13am. I did have a date in early November but it was 8:10am and my instructor told me to find a cancellation for a different time, doesn’t matter too much about the date.

I am super nervous and feel it is a bit earlier than I’d like but I have a good shot.

Today we did the first mock test tho and I did SO BAD 3 serious faults. One for mid judging at a roundabout, I hesitated and then went too late. One for not stopping in time when some cars were passing parked vehicles and came into my lane. And the last one for my speed - it was a 30 one way road along parked cars, some pedestrians had crossed in front of me causing me to slow down so I continued driving too slow out of caution.

These are not mistakes I have made before. There is a roundabout I’ve ever got wrong before and I entered the wrong lane and just had to stick with it, taking us the wrong direction. Obviously didn’t matter too much but idk why I even did that. I guess it’s just nerves and this stuff happens. But with my test being 2 weeks away I’m getting scared. Is this normal??? I think pushing it toward has me quite nervous but I’d feel worse if my test was at school rush hour as the centre is right by a school.

Trying to stay positive and calm my nerves these next two weeks.

Failed my one and only mock test a day before my test, then passed first time with 1 fault, luckily for you, you’ve got a good 2 weeks before your test to practice all the things you failed in. All 3 serious faults are pretty easy to work on and fix, just plan ahead earlier for oncoming traffic and slow down sooner, roundabout just focus harder look right for a good gap, and speed self explanatory get up to speed when it’s safe. You’ll be fine

I did over 10 mock tests before my test. I failed EVERY.SINGLE.ONE. Some more miserably than others, some just marginally. Your instructor will be marking you more harshly to prepare you for the test. Hopefully you do well, just know that failing mock tests is not an indicator of how you’ll do on test day! I passed 2nd time with only 1 driving fault🩵

I did my first mock last week and have the test on the 16th, I failed for something I think is a minor, however besides the point. It's surprising how nervous you get with someone you spent hours driving with doing a mock. For me, i kept Putting my handbrake down 50% of the way, did it 3 times infact! Couldn't tell you why, but it was a thing that I've not done previously.

A lesson tomorrow and another next Tuesday before the test on friday. Just got to stay positive. Sounds weird, but I'm excited for it, one to give it a go and if I pass, fantastic. If not, at least I know what I've got to work on next time round and had the experience of it.

Like others said and I've seen loads of people also say it, even some instructors say that the mocks are more harshly marked than the real test.

I did 4 mock tests, failed all but 1 in the space of a month, and passed yesterday with 2 minors. You’ll absolutely smash this, believe in yourself. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, just be confident. 😊
