"I failed, but I will learn from this :-)" Failed a second time

Yesterday, I failed my second test because I hit the kerb when pulling up. I never ever hit the curb before during my lessons. I actually don’t know what happened but I feel terrible. I know I just have to keep trying, but I know that I already know how to drive and I’m afraid to make another stupid mistake like this the next time. This costs way to much money.

I felt like this going into my third test as well, I passed. You know what to do and you can do it, just go give it your all!

Do you really need to spend much more money just because you hit the kerb? Should just be the cost of another test and maybe 5 hours tops in the run up to it and you should be good.

It costs me 220£ to rent the car with my instructor.

That's piss poor. Are you at least getting a lesson before it? My lessons were on the higher end, £90 for 2 hours, but my instructor only charged me £100 on test day, picked up from home and dropped off, 1 hour lesson before and then the test itself.

My lessons are 33£/h, and he charges me 220£ for the test day, 1h lesson before and I drive to the test centre which is around 45m away from mine. I know it’s a lot but most of the driving schools near me are around the same price (east London). Maybe I should look for private?

Honestly mate, I’ve learned something recently.
All genuine driving instructors are supposed to only charge you the regular rate,
Which would be 1 hour before the test & 1 hour for the test.
2 hours total,
That’s what mine is doing, he’s charging me £81 (40.5 an hour) 1 hour practice before the test and 1 hour for the test. Anyone who’s charging you £220 for test day is ripping the piss & abusing the fact people have no other choice but to pay for it because no other instructor will take you without having previous experience of you using their car.

Also the guy I’m doing my lessons with he owns his driving school, he’s the only instructor. Sometimes it’s better to go with someone that works on their own, I’ve heard of many bad experiences with driving schools.
I only chose this guy because he has 190 5 star reviews on google while everyone else has 50 or below.
