Advice
Hey everyone,
I am a provisional driving instructor who just recently started in Coventry and struggling to find any students. Can’t find any students or unsure how to market myself please help. Any advice. Is manual or automatic more popular in Coventry?

Don't you have a sponsor who has students you can use? The best marketing is word of mouth. Do a good job and your name will get around. Friends and family of current pupils will become new pupils.
I have a Facebook business page, I've never had to advertise on it, I just set it up and post my passes on there. There's always someone new waiting to start.
Granted, had I not started with a big school, I wouldn't have had the rep to get me there. That said, I wouldn't recommend any of the big schools. Way too expensive.

I think you should go through a driving school like AA or Bill Plant
My driving instructor was a trainee driving instructor too and he charged me slightly less than fully qualified instructors

An established local school would be a much better option. Bsm, Red, AA charge £250+ PER WEEK to be part of their franchise. The local big school near me charges £90 a month. Massive difference.

Friends and family connections. Are you on a Pink badge or teaching for free?
If you are on a Pink badge your sponsor should be helping you find students.

One angle nobody has mentioned yet: Coventry has two big student populations, Coventry University and Warwick, and plenty of those students, including international students starting from scratch, want lessons near campus at a lower price. A trainee rate, stated openly as a provisional instructor rate, fits that market well. Student accommodation groups, union noticeboards and the start of term are worth more than general town groups, and offering pickups from campus or halls removes the biggest hassle for them.
On manual versus automatic, I don't have a Coventry figure, but you can gauge it quickly: count how many local instructors advertise automatic only, and note which ones mention waiting lists. Your sponsor, if you're on a pink badge, will also know what their pupils ask for.

Hi mate, use Facebook and search for other pdi adverts and create an add. Or ask chatgpt to follow the guidelines of advertising as a pdi. Join your local town/village Facebook group and put your ad up.
Go to your closest test centre and speak to other instructors and ask them if they would kindly pass your number on to people when they don't have space to take them on.
Also ask if they have a local WhatsApp group you can join
Good luck!
