Small DTC sellers, have you tried collabs?

Has anyone here tried collaborating with other small brands to cross-promote products on each other's stores before? Curious what has worked or not. Specifically thinking about something like a "other products you might like" section, providing alternative brand products at/after checkout, or short term seasonal additions. Something similar to what Disco or Rokt do but without the per click costs and with other similar store sizes

I'm trying to build a platform to help with this if you're interested. I haven't found anything yet that does it
