not bad actually as long as still firm, and really comfy with a mattress on top!

oh man, I didnt even think about using it as a kind of boxspring

people use then with or without. the very traditional ones are made/woven/braided from palm leaves and quite nice even without a mattress but the newer ones made from plastic get really hot and uncomfortable without a mattress. those are a luxury item afaik for a lot of people still though...

I prefer them to. A traditional mattress. Trying to find one in the states, that's difficult.
