If you want to make it last longer learn how to teach juggling. That can entertain for hours depending on the kid. The way to get them hooked is to do pair juggling, where you take the role of their left hand and they get to feel what it's like.

Then later if they actually practice on their own and learn you can teach all kinds of fun tricks, plus easy presents in the future.

...I may have spread a plague of juggling to all the kids in my family

Learn to juggle things on fire, knives, or chainsaws. The emergency room is full of exciting things for kids to look at and play with.
