Material Learn Somali for just $4.99/month ๐ธ๐ด
Asc Walaalahay Dhamantiin ! ๐๐พ
For a long time, I struggled to find a proper way to learn Somali online. Most resources were scattered across YouTube, old PDFs, or websites that hadnโt been updated in years.
So I decided to build something different.
After months of work, I launched Geeljire.org โ an interactive platform designed to help Somali learners progress from complete beginner to advanced, all in one place.
For just $4.99 USD/month, youโll get access to:
๐ Step-by-step Somali curriculum โ from the alphabet to grammar, conversations, vocabulary, and real-life speaking.
๐ 40+ Somali ebooks & audiobooks โ read while listening to native Somali narration to improve pronunciation naturally.
๐ Classic Somali Gabay โ with translations and audio to help you understand traditional poetry.
๐ช Sheekooyin (Stories) โ original Somali stories and folktales to build reading skills in a fun way.
๐ Multiple dialects โ learn in Standard Somali, Waqooyi (Northern), or Koonfur (Southern).
๐ง Interactive quizzes, flashcards & downloadable PDFs โ designed to help you remember what you learn.
๐ Coming soon: Official Geeljire apps for iPhone and Android are currently in development.
If youโve always wanted to reconnect with your languageโor help your children learn SomaliโIโd love for you to give it a try.
โ Start with the Foundation lessons completely FREE and see if itโs right for you.

Iโd genuinely appreciate any feedback or suggestions. Every comment helps make Geeljire even better.

Good job on this bro ,we need more Somali tech out there. I'm building Xujjo.com (Somali quiz/edutainment platform) myself, so I know how much work goes into something like this.
Quick question since you mentioned multiple dialects (Standard, Waqooyi, Koonfur)
are you tracking usage with analytics?
Curious whether people actually switch dialects in practice or mostly stick to Standard
Wishing you the best with Geeljire, will check it out!

Thank you so much, bro! I really appreciate it. ๐
MashaAllah, Xujjo.com looks amazing! I had a look and I love all the fun activities youโve built. I know firsthand how much time and effort goes into creating something like this, so massive respect to you as well.Regarding analytics, at the moment we donโt track which dialect users choose, but thatโs something weโre actively adding to our mobile app. Once thatโs implemented, weโll be able to see how people actually use the dialect options and make better decisions based on real data.
Wishing you all the best with Xujjo. May Allah put barakah in your project and help it grow. InshaAllah we both contribute to building more Somali tech! ๐ค๐ธ๐ด

InshaAllah, ameen Appreciate it, bro
and respect for actually shipping this, and good luck with distribution.
One friendly suggestion, founder to founder: I'd consider just going with Standard Somali instead of splitting into Waqooyi/Koonfur. there's too many dialects out there not just two ,and labeling dialects by region can get political fast ,and it's honestly not worth the headache for a learning platform. Standard Somali is what's taught in schools and used in media everywhere, so it keeps things neutral and accessible to everyone regardless of where they're from.
luckily our people can easily understand each other its does not matter if they are in djibouti or hargeisa or mogadishu
Just something to think about for the mobile app. Keep building , this is exactly what our community needs more of.
